We enjoyed our stay so much. The property is so clean and fully stocked with everything. Decor is so cute. We used fire pit with wood supplied by the owners. The owner was very responsive and available anytime needed. This property is very close to my husbands childhood home so that made it that much better. We will definitely stay again.

The drive to the home from the Interstate was so beautiful. It was great to slow down and take in the beauty of nature. When I arrived, I saw the beautiful creek on the property, the hens wandering around and the many raised bed gardens. The home was very clean and comfortable. The artwork and decor was created by artists Shaun knew. I had a relaxing cup of homemade tea and enjoyed spending time with Shaun’s 3-year-old son. My room was comfortable and close to the bathroom. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat after a long day’s drive, this is the place to go. Rural Retreat, VA lives up to its name and Shaun is the perfect host.

The lodge and its hosts are amazing! Our only complaint is that our stay was too short to fully appreciate all that this lodge had to offer! My husband and I and our 8 children (ages 22, 20, 20, 18, 16, 15, 13, and 11) were visiting grandparents in the area. We had a fabulous time hiking the trails, playing poker, having a campfire, playing basketball, fishing in the creek, cooking in the kitchen, visiting with family, and taking in the amazing views. Several of the kids even said that it was good that the place didn't have great cellular service. The house is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked for any kind of cooking. We would highly recommend this home and plan to stay again soon!

Tonya's home was very nice, clean and had super comfortable beds. The house was a perfect distance to AT trail entrances/exits and allowed us to easily continue our goal of section hiking the Appalchian Trail. Also, a very good place if you have dogs....even though we did not have our dog with us, the place is perfect for anyone with a dog or two. Fenced yard, dog toys/treats, water bowls... really anything you could need for your dog (s). Tonya, thanks for a great stay! Had a beautiful view! We enjoyed the peacefulness of the mountains, perfect for those looking to get away from a busy, noisy city!

Patty’s place is a beautiful, peaceful cabin right on the New River Trail. We booked this cabin because it was on the trail and had a large fenced in yard for our two dogs. The cabin was very clean and had everything you need in the kitchen! Nice dishes and pots and pans. The huge outside porch was perfect for eating lunch and dinner while the dogs played in the yard. It is a peaceful paradise! Patty always answered my questions so quickly!! Thank you Patty for sharing your cabin with us, we hope to be back this summer! Boo & Bella said thank you too! Woof woof!

We had a very peaceful stay! The house was very nice and clean. I loved the screened in porch with the view! The jacuzzi tub was a plus as well. We will be returning in the future!

My wife and I came up for a three day Veterans Day weekend with our dogs. This peaceful retreat was exactly what the doctor ordered. Beautiful, peaceful, & extremely relaxing. We enjoyed our stay so much, we didn't want the weekend to end...so we extended our booking another night. We're definitely coming back to this amazing location again. Our cabin, Shaman's Cure was cute, rustic, well equipped and exactly as described and pictured. Our dogs loved hanging outside on the covered porch and along the river bank while we had nightly fires in the fire pit, and even cooked some steaks over the open flame.

Amazing place to stay for some peace and quiet! Amazing views from the deck and sunroom. Very well furnished and greatly decorated. Very comfortable place! Will definitely be returning

A great place to relax. There was plenty of space on the property to play games and lounge around. The river access is a little difficult for people with disabilities but overall highly recommended.

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful. Very peaceful and somewhat isolated back in the woods. The living room sofa and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. Not far off the interstate and easy to find per the instructions to use GPS coordinates. Would love to stay there again!

This house was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Clean and clutter free home with an almost fully stocked kitchen. We agreed the beds were not actually queen sized, probably full sized. Very easy river access and easy to find in a very peaceful area. Hope to come back again soon!

Beautifully decorated, meticulously clean cottage in a beautiful country setting. Perfectly appointed with every item you could possibly need. Only 15 minutes from the quaint town of Wytheville with many stores and restaurants. Wayne was a wonderfully responsive host with great suggestions for restaurants and points of interest in the area. Delicious treats were waiting for us, which was perfect after our long drive. Lovely & Exceptional accommodation!
