Tracey’s place was so close to Tongariro NP that we could come back to eat lunch then head back up to the park to continue hikes. It also had a convenient store and gas station nearby too.

An absolutely wonderful little cabin atop the hill overlooking the surrounding region with a beautiful interior and exterior, and with even more impressive views of the sunset over the lake.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in dem Bootshaus. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet und das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Wer das Tongariro Crossing machen möchte, erhält viele hilfreiche Informationen von den Gastgebern. Ausserdem konnten wir Kayaks ausleihen und einen wunderschönen Fluss hinauf paddeln. Wir können das Bootshaus sehr empfehlen. Wir danken Barb und Mike für ihre Gastfreundlichkeit.

Great place to stay at Jeremy’s cottage. Easy to find, close to town, very peaceful location. Jeremy was very friendly and my husband had a few chats with him, which is his favorite pastime! Hopefully stay again sometime in the future 😊

cute spot, nice view of the mountain and stars at night. felt far away but was still very close to town. friendly farm animals which was lovely

We had a fantastic time staying at Yee Ley and Rob’s AirBnB. They were communicative, thoughtful, and provided a truly enjoyable stay in Whanganui. We particularly appreciated the view of their gorgeous garden, chooks, and provision of eggs and bread for breakfast. Thoroughly recommend to any weary traveller making their way through the region! Would stay again.

Megan was a fantastic host. Check-in and stay were great - she was able to give me recommendations on local restaurants. Location is away from the noise so you can enjoy the quiet but still close enough to anything you may need. 10/10

We had a very comfortable stay at Craig’s cottage which provided us with all that we needed. Motuopa is a delightful spot on Lake Taupo. Would visit again.

We had such a comfortable long weekend here. It was a great place to chill inside for a rainy weekend, and very private. Great location, super close to the lake where I had an amazing swim. Thanks for making it a lovely stay.

Nice sized single bedroom house on the owner’s property. View over river from the kitchen. For privacy I closed some of the curtains. Overall a peaceful stay. The traffic on the main road didn’t bother me at all. You can walk or run along the river or around the bridges, which is a very nice thing to do.

We had a wonderful stay an Jannel‘s tiny house. It was perfect to explore the Tongariro national park - just a 30 min to 1h ride to the most important hikes in the park. The proximity to Ohakune was great to quickly get some groceries and take aways. The restaurants were nice! Still, the location of the tiny house 15 min out of town was great to relax and watch stunning sunrises. Jannel and her family were very welcoming and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Helen & Lee’s. The place was easy to locate and it’s in a peaceful, residential area, yet very close to restaurants, things to do, town centre, etc. It was pristine and welcoming— the homemade gingerbread was such a thoughtful and delicious touch! Even the coffee selection was enjoyable. We also really appreciated the small details that made a big difference, like the torch, coasters and phone holder, the fantastic local recommendations. They have also very thoughtfully put together a detailed folder answering every possible question one might have about the property, water, and more — it was incredibly helpful and informative. Another thing we really enjoyed is the great selection of books to relax to - helpful resources for planning or learning about New Zealand. Enjoyed some great reading time, especially since the property itself offers beautiful views. Thank you for the comfortable and memorable experience.

We had another fantastic stay at Warren's accommodation. It is peaceful and picturesque, and it has everything you need for a relaxing break. Our two little dogs love the local walks along the lake. 5 stars all round.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The place had everything we needed. It was a homely stay in a great location. The bedding was beautiful and we had a great sleep. I appreciated all the small touches that made it comfortable. My daughter enjoyed the garden which she thought was adorable.

We had a wonderful stay at Juanitta and Wayne's place. They were very friendly and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The property is really pretty and very peaceful and quiet. The bed was comfy and the bathroom and kitchen spaces were great. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks very much for looking after us!

Wonderful place to base ourselves while visiting family. We chose to stay somewhere out of town and it was nice and peaceful so exactly what we needed.

Considerate and kind host, appreciated the little things available on arrival such as tea, coffee, sugar, sachet drinks & milk. Lovely amenities that provided everything we needed for our stay. Will recommend to family & friends and will be our first choice of accommodation when passing through Taupo again.

Amazingly quiet and clean spot that is perfect for a stay. The attention to detail of making such a small space clean and not cluttered is perfect. With the sun streaming in on an autumn afternoon, it will remain my favourite and go-to spot in the area. Thanks team -- I will be back.

We had such a great 10-day stay at EJ’s place! The space is beautiful, modern, and super comfortable. I loved all the plants and the fresh, clean smell of essential oils throughout the home. The veggie garden out the back is amazing too! It’s in an awesome location — just a short walk to the beach and a play area for the kids. Everything was spotless and felt really welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here!
