We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful chalet! Nestled in nature, it was the perfect peaceful escape for us and our little one. The space was cozy, well-designed, and full of charm. One of our favorite moments was enjoying the cheeseboard—it was such a lovely touch, and we had the sweetest little picnic surrounded by stunning views. This place is truly special, and we left feeling refreshed and grateful. We’d love to come back again—highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful hut in Lake Tekapo. The setting was magical — peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature with stunning views of the lake and mountains. The hut itself was cozy, well-designed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell a lot of care has gone into the details. Waking up to the stillness and beauty of the landscape was a highlight of our trip. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique, serene getaway.

Best Airbnb either of us have ever stayed in, in our extensive travels. We are still in disbelief of this home. If you have the chance to stay, do it. We had hesitated to book because there’s so much to do along the South Island, but now we know that this home is worth making the special visit. We will not be forgetting the serenity and beauty of Fallow Ridge: the uninterrupted panoramic view of sheep-dotted mountainside, the warm bath overlooking the sunset, the beautiful fog rolling in and out around the house. We walked along the road and down to the river and never actually went back down into town in our two nights because the property was just too awesome to leave; we recommend you arrive with some groceries as we did, in case you feel the same! The thoughtful details from our hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were glad to meet David out on a walk and we regret to have not met Sarah, who we wish to also sincerely thank for such a lovely stay!

The place was very romantic! Definitely rustic, which is what we love, but still very comfortable and clean. Felt very private for me and my new wife on our honeymoon. The owner's house is about 20m across from the hot tubs, which we were concerned about, but there's no windows on that side of the house, and he left us alone, once he got the tubs got. Still felt private and romantic. It is heated by a heater and a fireplace, which we kept running easily. It did get a little cool overnight, when we weren't topping it up. Nothing to worry about, especially with the heater, and heated blanket. Toni and Judy were very friendly as well!

What an amazing cabin! Looked exactly like the pictures and the outside bath was icing on the cake!

Thank you for a great place to stay. We appreciated the small touch of easter eggs tucked in to the napkins and loved watching your beautiful cows in the paddock out front! We were blessed with clear nights to stargaze frm the hot tub!

We absolutely loved our stay in Lake Tekapo and could not recommend lakes edge more. It was easy to find, close to the town centre but removed enough for peace and privacy. We were right on the lakes edge (as the name describes) with amazing views of lake Tekapo. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were well equipped and clean. Can’t wait to stay at Lakes Edge when we visit Lake Tekapo again. Thanks

Good place to explore lake Tekapo/Mt Cook for reasonable prices. Cabins are comfortable with a fridge inside, but the bathroom and kitchen are outside.

Great spot!!! Highly recommend if solo traveling through the South Island. Great hosts- I forgot my tooth brush and they told me and let me grab it!!!

Great little spot where you feel like you’re literally in a different world, spacious for a small space.

Basic cabin bed and tv, fridge. Good value for money if passing through Could do with active lights when using the loo at night. very helpful staff, had a flat tyre they pumped it up and recommended a garage

This is a really special place, if you get the chance to stay here, do it. The surroundings are breathtaking and you can really just disconnect from the world for a while (although the WiFi is pretty good if you don’t want to entirely disconnect). The cabin is very well equipped and has everything and more you could need for a quiet getaway. Finding the cabin is very straightforward as long as you follow Kenny’s (very clear) instructions but I would recommend a 4WD if you aren’t experienced driving in the terrain, and just for comfort. Again, building the fire is easy as long as you follow the instructions provided. Kenny is a great host, super responsive and very friendly. Worth every penny!
