What a perfect place to stay. The place exceeded expectations and is even better than the photos and descriptions suggests. The fireplace worked flawlessly and was stocked with plenty of firewood and kindling to use. The beds had nice pillows and sheets that were warm and enveloping - and one bed had an electric blanket which was useful on a cold night. The outdoor bathtub was the highlight of the trip - the view of the Milky Way from a hot bath in a secluded area was something special - even saw a couple of shooting stars. The home is a quick 4 minute drive to Franz Josef town if you’re looking for restaurants or the grocery store. Can’t recommend this place more. What a special two nights we had there. We loved staying here! It was clean, warm and comfortable. It’s a very close drive to the Fox glacier viewpoint and lake matheson from here. The breakfast provisions was also great to have. Thank you!

A spacious home with a lovely setting, with plenty of space to spread out. Easy walking distance to the center with a good selection of restaurants. A variety of excellent walking trails are within a short distance by car and well worth doing. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very considerate host. We appreciate for a late check out cause we want to change clothes and pick up luggage after glacier hiking .

It was a great place to stay at. Right in the midst of the rainforest, with a private hot tub and sauna to our unit. Private and peaceful, yet close to everything out there. Property has everything you need and it felt cosy, luxurious and clean! Love it!

Shane’s place is in the perfect location if you are after some quiet nature time. There are no cafes, supermarkets or restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Bring your own food and enjoy the accommodation.

Shane's place was perfect for a one night stop on my drive up the Coast. Ōkārito has a great beach. Check in and communication went smoothly, The fire place was lovely for a cooler evening.

The place was large, beautiful, and interestingly furnished, well appointed and had some thoughtful additions for the weary traveler. The bed was very comfortable too. The tiny village was delightful and kayaking the lagoon was a highlight.
