Incredible! This is a wonderful spot to experience some history and the perfect launching point to see all of the sights — ideal for those that want to visit Kyoto but have a little distance from some of the more chaotic neighborhoods. But, perhaps most of all, the hosts are so friendly and accommodating. Truly so grateful for the time we spent there, we’ll never forget it. Plus, special bonus: fresh baked bagels and coffee right downstairs from the connected cafe.

This is a wonderful place to stay in every aspect. The rooms have an authentic Japanese vibe — they're clean, spacious, and full of character. The price is very reasonable, and the host is friendly and easy to communicate with. The location is excellent, just a short walk from many major sights. We also really appreciated the thoughtful little treats provided by the host. The only minor drawback is the absence of a full kitchen. However, there’s a kettle and a fridge, which were more than enough for a quick breakfast. Plus, there are plenty of affordable places to eat nearby, so it didn’t feel like a big limitation at all.

Clean, new, beautiful accommodation with lots of useful amenities. Quiet neighbourhood but very close to a convenience store and still pretty accessible to bar areas too. Easy check-in/out process.

The house is so pretty, from the moment you slide the main door, they have small bonsai garden to greet you and process of check in is so easy. it's positioned at 2nd floor and stairs pretty steep so gotta be careful if you are carrying large luggages up and down. Sending luggages were also easy to 7eleven close by only 3 mins walk and 5 mins walk to Tengachaya station. The room is full of amneties and snacks to welcome you. Fridge has bottles of water. Everything is well thought. They even provided facial wash and lotion.This place is amazing. The communication between me and the host was also clear, responsive and she replies so fast that whatever your queries she answered straight away. Thank you for hosting us again. :)

The place is very beautiful and feels like home. It’s very peaceful but also convenient to go visit other places. The host is very responsive and prepared many coffee and tea bags. One of the best hosts I have met!

Wir waren 2 Nächte als Familie mit drei Kindern (18, 18, 15) dort. Die Gastgeberin Yoshino-san ist sehr herzlich und zuvorkommend. Die Kommunikation ist klar, sie hat zu allen möglichen Themen Schilder auf Englisch, z.T. sogar auf Deutsch parat. Die 2 durch Schiebetür getrennten Zimmer sind groß, waren aber mit den insgesamt fünf Futons natürlich recht voll gestellt, wenn auch ausreichend. Es gab viel Platz in Schränken! WC und Badezimmer waren sehr sauber. Man sollte unbedingt einmal das japanische Frühstück von Yoshino-san ausprobieren. Empfehlenswert ist außerdem ein Besuch im Tempel, dessen Priester ihr Sohn ist. Wir hatten die Möglichkeit, einmal an der morgendlichen Zeremonie teilzunehmen, was sehr beeindruckend war. Der Tempel liegt perfekt zwischen Kaiserpalast und Hijo-Burg. Es gibt eine Auswahl von kleinen guten japanischen und anderen Restaurants in der Nähe.  Wer ein authentisches Erlebnis in einem japanischen Heim sucht, ist hier genau richtig! This was such a perfect home base for our stay in Fujiyoshida. The neighborhood was full of great restaurants and amazing views. We also had rented a car, so the parking spot made coming and going a breeze. We were able to explore the region with confidence and know we had a comfortable place to return “home” to. The 2 full bathrooms made getting ready in morning and night a much more efficient process. The loft gave our preteen some privacy from the rest of the family as well. This will be a place and week we will always remember in our family.

it was a really nice place and everything looked liked the pictures and was new and renovated. it is like a 10 minute walk from the station and the stairs to get into the place are a bit narrow and steep so just be aware of that if it applies to you but it was a great stay!
