Just had a fantastic stay here - it's a beautifully presented shepherd's hut surrounded by rolling green. Host communication was great, and we found the hut to have everything we needed. The bed is comfy, the shower is great, and there is a functional kitchen. There are a couple of bbqs and a swim spa (a very large hot tub), making it easy to relax if you don't fancy going out. If you do want to go out, you can walk to local pubs or to Heale Gardens, which is lovely. I imagine most would come here by car but it is possible to train into Salisbury and get a taxi, as we did. All in all, we couldn't recommend this place enough - it's fantastic and I think we'll try and make it a yearly occurrence.

A lovely little place to stay! We managed to book a last minute one night get away in the shepherds hut and it was a perfect choice for us. Hassle free booking with very good communication. A beautiful little hut in lovely surroundings. Easy to find and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The hosts were very welcoming as were the neighbours who owned the big garden/field opposite! Found a great pub (The Crown) in the village where we enjoyed a lovely Sunday carvery! Overall a great overnight stay. Thank you!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the hut. Fiona was a really great host who came out to us even though it was late and raining! The hut was super warm on arrival and it has an internal heater and towel rail which is nice. It was also nice to be welcomed with some baked goods which we enjoyed the next morning. The bed was super comfy and we slept really well. The hot tub was nice to relax in… you get all the stuff provided for it which is good and on previous experiences this isn’t always the case. We used the Fire pit and you get some cushions to use which are under the bed and extra blankets which again is really nice. It’s exceptionally well thought out and the lord of added extras make it really nice. Would deffo return

A fantastic place in a pretty, serene location where you can chill by the fire pit. The kids loved the hut and the amenities and brought them away from their devices and into the outside!

Thankfully we bumped into Sally’s neighbour who walked us to the site. ( we ended up becoming friends with them!) The accommodation wasn’t very clean, but it was well stacked with everything we needed and more. Beds and pillows were terrifically comfortable. Bath was heaven, evenings and mornings were paradise. Loved eating al fresco and the site contained everything to make us relax. A special thanks for bread, REAL coffee! Eggs, butter and milk! We loved it and would love to return. Just more attention required to housekeeping!

This is a perfect little place in the New Forest! It is our 4th time staying here and we love coming back. The full English breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients is to die for! We love seeing all of the animals on the farm and the forest, and our dog had a mini holiday of her own here. Amanda is an amazing host and a wonderful human being and we love listening to stories from her life and her knowledge about the forest. We hope to be back again

The 2 ladies that greeted us upon check in were friendly and helpful. the campsite is clean, peaceful, tranquil. plenty of toilet/shower blocks which were clean, modern and accessible whenever my family needed. all guests very friendly. as for the shepherds hut, it was warmer then expected with plenty of room and storage under the main double bed. mattress very comfortable and 2 single beds which could fit up to 5ft 2 child on comfortably. if your on a budget i would recommend arranging food (there is 2 electric hob perfect for pasta) as a family of 4 we walked to nearest pub restaurant st peters finger, was nice but pricey and limited menu. highly reccommended for short stay (1/2 nights) with local links for things to do

Had a solo stay- lovely hut with small kitchen and fridge. Some thoughtful touches like cold water and juice left on a boiling hot day for me. Very beautiful garden, I enjoyed the nearby sunset and sat out with the wood burner looking at the stars. Magical.

Me and my 9 year son loved our stay . Comfy accommodation with lovely private garden. Large barn with table football, table tennis and records was a real bonus. The whole place has real character and warmth. Andrew and Tanya where really helpful and friendly. Great location to access the New forest. Beautiful common a short walk away and lots to discover within short driving distance. Look forward to staying again

My partner and I had a fantastic stay in Sheena’s shepherd’s hut. We arrived quite late in the evening but Sheena was super communicative and accommodating and gave very helpful instructions for finding the correct entrance to the property, which were a life saver looking in the dark! The hut is secluded far in the back of the garden with its own driveway entrance so still feels very private. It’s fitted out adorably with everything you could need and we enjoyed using the cosy log burner as well as two spare electric heaters when we wanted to warm up quickly. It was also generously supplied with tea/coffee/milk, biscuits and some kindling for the log burner. The property is a handy 20-30 mins from most tourist locations around Dorset so it was a great base for us to visit Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Seatown/Golden Cap, Weymouth, and even Monkey World :)

Just got home from a fantastic 3 night stay in the shepherds hut, could not fault it one bit, the hut was amazing and such a peaceful place to stay. We would highly recommend it and we will be looking into booking again in the future. Tom our host was fantastic from start to finish, checking in with us regularly via message to see if we needed anything and was super responsive when we messaged him or asked for anything. Thank you Tom and Lucy. We had the best time.

The shepherds hut was really lovely and in such a nice secluded area. The sunsets were beautiful and my partner, little boy and I had a really lovely time. I especially loved the fire pit which we cooked a couple of barbecues on and the outdoor area for playing games and having a couple of ciders in the evening. Would definitely recommend the shepherds hut

We had a lovely couple of nights in Herdwick hut at Laverstock farm. The farm is gorgeous and we enjoyed walking around it seeing the animals, particularly the pygmy goats, and even had a couple of games of table tennis in the games room. The area around the hut is very private and peaceful, although you could hear some chatter from the cottages above at times. The hut itself is really pretty and cosy and we loved being greeted by the cows in the adjacent field. The separate kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed evenings by the fire pit, with the added bonus of marshmallows left by the host! One thing to mention is that the shared washroom is a walk away, up by the cottages, but it was clean and offered products and towels. A relaxing and lovely stay.

Had a lovely night in the Shepard's hut. We enjoyed the garden facilities- BBQ and swing chair. Inside was organized and clean and had all the basics to cook some great meals on. Although the hut is very close to the house it felt completely private. Would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

An amazingly perfect weekend we have had staying at Esme’s Escape, Karen is a wonderful host and could not have given us anymore information if she tried! Would 100% recommend this to anyone who just wants a break from the world to soak up the surroundings, we certainly came back home very relaxed. The hut itself is beautifully presented, and the hot tub is amazing, I’m sure we probably spent close to 10 hours in there over 2 nights! Wow, what a gem this place is! Stayed a couple weeks ago with my wife and we fell in love with it. We walked to the local pub for some food and drink which was lovely. Amazing views and peaceful, perfect location! Will definitely book again!

Eine der tollsten Unterkünfte. Wunderbar gelegen an der Jurassic Coast, ruhig und mit direktem Blick aufs Meer. Schön eingerichtet mit allem, was man braucht. Die Kinder liebten den Pool, das Trampolin, die Playstation und die Fasane, die uns täglich besucht haben. Über den Coast Path erreicht man in wenigen Minuten Lyme Regis, sodass wir das Auto gar nie brauchten. Wir kommen gern wieder.

This was the second time we stayed at the glorious little Acorn Hut. Again we were very warmly welcomed by the family and we had a perfect stay! We will go back again!

Collie shepherds hut was just perfect! The hut was clean and well equipped, with some beautiful extra touches like crumpets and milk being provided. It had everything we needed for our weekend break. All bedding and towels were provided and there were things like a hairdryer for after the tub, blankets for a chilly evening and sticks to toast marshmallows on! The hot tub and fire pit were superb, and well used by us! It got soooo hot we were able to stay in for hours! The view was to die for- with rolling fields in front of us, with grazing horses, many different birds and the sound of cows and wildlife all around. It was in a very rural location which meant it was peaceful and tranquil. Lots of towns and cities near enough to get out exploring each day! The host was great at communicating and gave us a very friendly welcome. We would absolutely come back ❤️

WOW- I can’t recommend this listing any more highly. Lou went above and beyond to make our stay special. The drive through her garden/farm to get to the accommodation felt magical, before witnessing the stunning Shepard’s hut. If you’re looking for a cute countryside retreat, this is the one for you. It was so peaceful having a few drinks in the fairly light lit hot tub, before crashing on the large king sized bed. 15 minute drive to cheddar gorge, and only 5 minutes to local pub (or 20 min walk). Lou was super responsive the whole trip and did whatever she could to make our stay feel special. We will definitely be returning next year (potentially with friends as she has another studio with space for 2 more people on a separate listing). Thanks so much :)
