The perfect OBX cottage with the most stunning sunsets! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to spend time as a family! Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. Our host was quick to answer any questions. This will definitely be my go to OBX rental!

The Bruce’s Retreat was the perfect location and the absolute best sunsets in the OBX! There were kayaks available, a cooler and beach chairs that made us feel right at home. The home was comfortable and close to all the restaurants and shopping. You can fish right off of their dock, but if you want to get into the bigger fish, it’s just a short drive away. It worked out perfect for me, as the fish I caught at the home dock, I used to catch my biggest Red Drum (34”) on the surf! Karin was a great host, and was a quick responder when we reached out. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again when we visit.

Loved the house on the water. Waking up and walking out and watching the sunrise was awesome. The sunset was just as nice but a little obstructed by trees. The house was fantastic. 3 beds and two full bath made it very easy for us to stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook anything at home! Pet friendly and my dogs loved the covered porch looking over the water! Ac and heat worked great and was very comfortable. I would go back.

The house was beautiful and everything was perfect. Isaac was very responsive and helpful. Having access to the backyard to take our dogs out was so convenient. We would absolutely stay here again!

The house was clean and spacious and the views were calming. The living room was really a place for gathering friends and watching the final four on the lovely sectional couch and giant loveseat chair. We ate our dinner around the dining table with plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room in each bedroom for our belongings. We walked to the beach and took the golf cart to the beach as well. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. The only downside was there was not enough seats on the outside decks where we spent most of our time. There were only two chairs and a love seat. We would stay again!

Like the description, it is a peaceful paradise! Outside has beautiful sunrise, and amazing open water views. We took great photos just form the front yard. Inside has artistic decorations. It is truly a unique property. The three-night stay is just too short for us to enjoy all the amenities and to have enough time to talk with Alan and Nora. Will come back again!

The entire property is beautiful and there is plenty to see and do! The private beach and dock access were the highlight of the stay and we utilized it at every opportunity. Such a unique experience just 10 minutes from downtown New Bern!

Denise’s place was beautiful fully stocked with everything you would need definitely would recommend.

Such a beautiful country cottage on the water!! I enjoyed the large windows overlooking the water and watching all the birds. We didn’t have time to kayak but definitely a great spot for that! We will stay again!!

This was our second stay at Chris's waterfront cottage. We were lucky enough to be here during the local Christmas holiday festivities in Oriental. Chris's place was so peaceful and serene. We can't wait to stay again!

The view from the porch and out the windows is STUNNING. Beautiful river view, incredible sunsets. House had good AC and cute little v clean bathroom. Kitchen was fine. There is a set of steps to get up into the house, as shown in the pics, so might not be the easiest choice for someone elderly or physically challenged. But for most people, this little place might be just the restful spot they are craving! Thank you, Melissa!

Me & my 3 boys spent 3 nights at this wonderful hideaway. Alex has everything you need in the kitchen. (Microwave handle was coming off ) but that is literally the only complaint other than hot tub wouldn’t warm up for us! Other than that. All the kitchen items you need, tons of space, beautiful clean, water front house. I swear you have views of the water from every single window in the house. Comfy beds, tvs functioning. Oh we couldn’t figure out retro gaming system and we have tech savvy boys. But who cares because the trip was about getting off screens. We kayaked and used the dock for fishing. My son caught a catfish, blue crabs, and a stingray. He really never left the dock. So peaceful. We want to come back!

Beautiful historic home on water. Well appointed and well stocked. Peaceful and very relaxing. Whisper clean and wonderful outside porches. We did not have the time to take advantage of the kayaks/fishing etc - but would have if we had the time and so nice to have the option! Parking next to the house was too tight for us, but we found parking across the street on the side street to be very convenient, permissible and safe. Linda was so responsive to all our inquiries. We loved our stay.

Great home in such a beautiful town. We had everything needed and much we needed more time to use! Visited Mill Whistle Brewing, which was just few minutes walk with a great selection. Front Street shopping & restaurants only 25 minutes walk. The front porch was a favorite for our stay! appreciated the flexibility with check in/out times. We hope to visit again.

From beginning to end this cottage is off the charts. Cute, unique, functiinal, confortable, well organized, thoroughly supplied and the location is private and beautiful.

We loved our stay at the Mermaid Cottage. It was very kid friendly, clean, walkable to a great playground and the local curb market. Stacie was a great host and we’d absolutely recommend her place.

Longacres is a special place. It’s definitely rustic and my teenagers weren’t excited at first. But when it was time to go home, they didn’t want to leave. The outdoor shower and sleeping porch are amazing. My husband and I used them in all weather from the 70s to the 40s. The electric blanket kept us cozy on even the coldest nights. Staying at Longacres felt like glamping. You might have to deal with a few wasps or spiders, or you might run into some cobwebs. But the birds singing you awake every morning, the sun shining in through the tree, the wind whispering in the pines, and the blue sky over head during a shower make those bugs and cobwebs totally worth it! The location was a great jumping off point for all OBX adventures. Anne was a responsive host and quickly dealt with a minor issue we had. I hope we get to come back again sometime!

10/10! I enjoyed my stay so much I've already booked another stay there! The home was very clean as was evident by the prevalent smell of air freshener and fresh-smelling cleaning products. I have a very sensitive nose, so for me it was a bit much, but the issue was quickly and easily resolved by letting in the fresh ocean air. The home was extremely well-stocked and the bed was very comfy. The host was responsive and friendly, and the location is perfect -- very idyllic and peaceful.

We loved this beautiful home! Beautifully decorated-calm vibe. So cozy and comfortable. I’m also an Airbnb host and I can tell you this space is wonderful! Well worth the price point! Don’t miss out on the fire pit. Something about a fire with your family by the water…it’s truly magical. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed. Kathy is kind and accommodating. Super responsive and easy to communicate with. Can’t say enough. 10/10.

Our 3-night stay at Legacy Lodge Bunkhouse in Windsor, NC, was a delightful escape to celebrate my wife’s and son’s birthdays. The bunkhouse kept our two kids entertained with games, toys, an air hockey table, and bunk beds our son adored. Outside, a mini paradise awaited: multiple fire pits (unlimited wood for $30, highly recommended), play areas, and a covered concrete space perfect for rollerblading and scootering. We enjoyed the wood-fired pizza oven and grilled steaks, though the propane grill needs a deep clean. The thoughtful birthday gifts and decorations for our son, plus a “Honk, it’s my birthday!” sign by host Deena (explaining the passing cars’ honks), added such a warm touch. This peaceful retreat is ideal for families or anyone seeking serenity. We’d absolutely recommend it!

The place itself was beautiful in a nice community with boats parked right outside. There is a community restaurant, and stores in the facility but outside everything is a bit far away. Would come back when it’s warmer to be able to go to the beach and other activities offered. There are other locations offered through their website.. look forward to coming back in the future.
