Charming and comfortable, the Two Owls Cottage has tastefully decorated interiors and beautiful French doors onto the front and back stoeps. Suitable for single guests or couples, wifi access, a fully equipped kitchen, stone courtyard with unique water feature and recently built swimming dam in the garden add to amenities for guests. The cottage offers expansive views of the Sneeuberg mountains surrounding the village and easy access to village attractions and hiking paths popular with visitors.

A cozy Karoo farm style self-catering cottage for 7 guests featuring a queen-size bed & en-suite bathroom in room 1. Queen-size with en-suite in room 2. Room 3- 2 single beds and a 3rd added on request & an en-suite. Other in-room facilities include Electric blankets, Fans, Heaters, Hairdryer, Mosquito nets, fully equipped kitchen, and a lounge area with a cozy Fire place. We are situated in the hart of the Authentic Nieu-Bethesda, and within walking distance from all iconic attractions.

The Heritage House

A historic house with whitewashed walls and Oregon floors and ceilings. It has three bedrooms, two of them with double beds, both with French doors opening to a private garden. The third is a twin room. The house has a large open-plan kitchen/living room. A stay should include a tour of the stunning art and giant tapestries made by local Bushmen descendants. The three galleries and the studio give visitors a chance to see local artists at work and chat with them about their heritage.

Honeymoon Suite

Luxury suite with open-plan kitchen and lounge (fireplace) area and separate bedroom king size bed and private bathroom with shower, situated in a small poplar forest in a quiet village near the Owl House. Furrows Lodge is walking distance from the local pub, restaurants, Owl House, art galleries and the local brewery. All suites have complimentary coffee or tea which can be enjoyed with homemade rusks. We have "braai" / barbecue facilities and a dedicated smoking area. Free Wi-Fi.

Our recently restored farm cottage makes for an idyllic getaway for friends and family alike. As it's situated on a working farm, the sights and sounds of this life won't be far from your doorstep. This picturesque farm appeals to the adventurous spirit as there are endless opportunities for hiking, cycling and general exploration! The Gats River meanders through our breathtaking kloof, where rock pools make for a fun dip once the rains have come. It's a nature-lover's paradise!

The Koeistal for tranquility & beautiful views

The Koeistal nestles in Nieu Bethesda in the heart of the Great Karoo, surrounded by vast picturesque mountain ranges. Home to the Owl House Museum. Nieu-Bethesda is ideal for mountain bike enthusiasts, hikers or anyone wanting to enjoy the tranquility of the Karoo. The town’s restaurants are within walking distance from the Koeistal and so are the art galleries and bookstore. Nights under the stars are the best- make sure you count all the shooting stars you’re about to see!

Playwright's House, Nieu-Bethesda

This unpretentious, rustic and secluded Karoo home is where internationally acclaimed playwright and writer Athol Fugard wrote between 1990 and 2017. It's on the peaceful northeastern corner of our quaint village. Crystal-clear Karoo air, intense night skies, crackling winter fires, tranquillity. The cottage draws travellers, explorers, friends & families seeking connection; and it's an inspiring creative space.

"Mukti" is Sanskrit for spiritual liberation. We have always wanted a soulful, peaceful space where we can go to to clear our minds and hearts and we found our little paradise in Nieu-Bethesda. We renovated the property extensively, whilst paying respect to the heritage and character of the home. The interiors have been beautifully curated and designed, with top quality bedding and utilities.
