My parents stayed here and really loved the getaway. Wendy was very responsive and accomodating. Lots of nice touches including fresh eggs. Wendy extended the trip post a cancellation which was fantastic. The weather wasn’t ideal but it was the perfect spot for a cosy getaway, right by the ocean. Thanks so much, we will be back!

Genuinely blown away by this place, it absolutely exceeded all expectations. My family walked in and were in awe of how beautiful it was, it had a lovely vibe that made it feel like home. These hosts have nailed it and have an absolute gem here. We had plenty of space, the cottage was extremely clean to a very high standard, the hosts were attentive and kind, the finishing touches were impeccable and so thoughtful. This home was a great base as we explored the lakes to the south - and to the North West day trips to Golden Bay, Nelson and Kaiteriteri. We loved coming home after a busy day exploring the region and eating our family dinner together outside in the garden and waking up to have morning coffee amongst the flowers and birds in the garden. We've never stayed anywhere so beautiful, we hope to return soon! Thanks for providing an incredible place to help create our family memories.

Absolute treasure of a place. Highly recommend for the view alone. Beautifully kept and tidy property. It is a very peaceful environment.

This was our best stay so far in New Zealand with my new wife on our honeymoon! It is extremely private, and romantic! The view of the ocean, and the hills from the porch is amazing! We wish we could have stayed longer! Jude was very friendly! She even put together a flower bouquet from the field free of charge, as a surprise for my new wife! She also let us stay an hour after checkout, to enjoy the place!

Orinoco Retreat is a delightfully charming cottage set in stunning countryside. Mike and Anne are awesome hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Anne’s studio blew us away - what a talent! I now have a beautiful painting to take home! Can’t wait to return! 😊

Fantastische Lage mit super Blick von der Terrasse oberhalb des Oezans. Grill vorhanden, Sonnenuntergang direkt von der Terrasse einmalig. Einrichtung liebevoll und individuell, aber man sollte keinen top modernen Standard erwarten. Für uns aber voll ok, soll keine Kritik sein. Kochgelegenheit mit 2 mobilen Kochplatten, mit denen größere Gerichte etwas Kreativität verlangen. Dafür aber noch Außengrill vorhanden. Kurze, aber steile Auffahrt auf Schotter mit teilweise ausgewaschenen Rinnen. Stellt prinzipiell kein Problem dar, sollte man sich aber zutrauen. Kurze Wege zu den Pancake Rocks und Pororari River Gorge. Wir würden definitiv wieder buchen.

This was our last stop on our two week trip around central New Zealand. We stayed in many lovely air bnbs but this one was by far the best! The view of the ocean, the privacy, the spaciousness, the nature, and the hot tub under the stars made this stay our absolute favorite! AND the beach below the home is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to! 10/10 highly recommend staying here!

A unique and comfortable stay for our family. This is a well thought-out accommodation with everything we needed in a beautiful location. Highly recommended.

This was a beautiful home with outstanding scenery, modern kitchen , great bed & sharp knives for cooking. You can easily walk to the lake & nearby trails. It was a five star place in most respects. But be aware that The main heat source is a wood stove. So If you don’t like building a fire or are allergic to wood smoke like I am, it’s better to stay here in the warm summer months.
