Just had a fantastic stay here - it's a beautifully presented shepherd's hut surrounded by rolling green. Host communication was great, and we found the hut to have everything we needed. The bed is comfy, the shower is great, and there is a functional kitchen. There are a couple of bbqs and a swim spa (a very large hot tub), making it easy to relax if you don't fancy going out. If you do want to go out, you can walk to local pubs or to Heale Gardens, which is lovely. I imagine most would come here by car but it is possible to train into Salisbury and get a taxi, as we did. All in all, we couldn't recommend this place enough - it's fantastic and I think we'll try and make it a yearly occurrence.

Sandra and Rob are always really kind, thoughtful and helpful hosts and it is a pleasure to stay with them.

I had a wonderful stay. There has been some storm damage to the hut I was due to stay in so Linda called me and let me know she had plenty of other options and put me in a wonderful alternative hut. The hut was spotless, warm (with enough wood to keep me warm all weekend) and cosy. Linda was very friendly and responsive. Moonfleet is a beautiful place to spend some time away from normal life and feel in the country side. I can’t wait to go back!

A lovely little place to stay! We managed to book a last minute one night get away in the shepherds hut and it was a perfect choice for us. Hassle free booking with very good communication. A beautiful little hut in lovely surroundings. Easy to find and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The hosts were very welcoming as were the neighbours who owned the big garden/field opposite! Found a great pub (The Crown) in the village where we enjoyed a lovely Sunday carvery! Overall a great overnight stay. Thank you!

We had the most idyllic stay at the Shepherds hut. Lots of lovely touches like fresh flowers and homemade cookies. Good sized super comfy bed. Generous garden with hammocks and lots of seating and fabulous wood fired hot tub. BBQ and fire pit completed the ultimate outdoor private space. Very peaceful and green, lots of birdsong and visiting robins. Great value for such a wonderful experience. We would definitely return here and recommend.

The large fire pit was amazing and thanks for the first night’s wood. The view from the gas bbq was phenomenal. Fantastic pubs and historical sights of Lacock in walking distance, absolute peace and quiet, it’s just a dream holiday for anyone - especially a weary urbanite like me. Perfect for couples to go off-grid and relax. Thanks so much Mark for your helpful comms and all the thought you’ve put in to the place - we can’t wait to come back :)

Thankfully we bumped into Sally’s neighbour who walked us to the site. ( we ended up becoming friends with them!) The accommodation wasn’t very clean, but it was well stacked with everything we needed and more. Beds and pillows were terrifically comfortable. Bath was heaven, evenings and mornings were paradise. Loved eating al fresco and the site contained everything to make us relax. A special thanks for bread, REAL coffee! Eggs, butter and milk! We loved it and would love to return. Just more attention required to housekeeping!

Had a solo stay- lovely hut with small kitchen and fridge. Some thoughtful touches like cold water and juice left on a boiling hot day for me. Very beautiful garden, I enjoyed the nearby sunset and sat out with the wood burner looking at the stars. Magical.

Great little space for a weekend away - secluded and quiet, we really enjoyed the wood fired hot tub in which we spent the evening looking up at the stars! The local recommendations were great too - went for a pie at a local pub which was brilliant. The surroundings of the field and farm animals + plenty of wildlife made it a very peaceful stay. The cabin itself is well equipped and the how-to guides for everything are very clear. Lovely touch of a prosecco bottle to arrive to as well. Rebecca was a great host and offered plenty of suggestions for things to do in her written guide. The location is very convenient for the Jurassic coast by car. Would definitely come back again!

The shepherds hut was really lovely and in such a nice secluded area. The sunsets were beautiful and my partner, little boy and I had a really lovely time. I especially loved the fire pit which we cooked a couple of barbecues on and the outdoor area for playing games and having a couple of ciders in the evening. We had a lovely couple of nights in Herdwick hut at Laverstock farm. The farm is gorgeous and we enjoyed walking around it seeing the animals, particularly the pygmy goats, and even had a couple of games of table tennis in the games room. The area around the hut is very private and peaceful, although you could hear some chatter from the cottages above at times. The hut itself is really pretty and cosy and we loved being greeted by the cows in the adjacent field. The separate kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed evenings by the fire pit, with the added bonus of marshmallows left by the host! One thing to mention is that the shared washroom is a walk away, up by the cottages, but it was clean and offered products and towels. A relaxing and lovely stay.

This little Easter break was perfect for myself, my 4yr old and our dog, and exactly what it says in the tin ‘Simple and Serene’ the views are stunning and we went to 4 different beaches in the space of a couple of days! Nicola was so accommodating, from a flexible check in time to letting my daughter borrow colouring pens! I would 100% recommend and will book again in the future. Thank you so much x

Thank you for letting us stay in your delightful shepherd's hut. It was a really special place and private. It was a great setting for the dogs which made it extra relaxing for us.

Beautiful views and lovely decor! Very cosy! As a heads up it’s only a large double and two single beds above the large double. I was a little confused about this but my parents slept very well and it was a fantastic experience for them waking up to the incredible views and cute sheep.

Wow, what a gem this place is! Stayed a couple weeks ago with my wife and we fell in love with it. We walked to the local pub for some food and drink which was lovely. Amazing views and peaceful, perfect location! Will definitely book again!

Super clean shepherd's hut in a lovely countryside location where you can watch plenty of wildlife and the pet ducks in the stream. The build quality of the shepherd's hut is very impressive, with double glazing and plenty of heating. Clive is a very good host and responds very quickly to any messages. We will definitely be back at some stage.

This was the second time we stayed at the glorious little Acorn Hut. Again we were very warmly welcomed by the family and we had a perfect stay! We will go back again!

Collie shepherds hut was just perfect! The hut was clean and well equipped, with some beautiful extra touches like crumpets and milk being provided. It had everything we needed for our weekend break. All bedding and towels were provided and there were things like a hairdryer for after the tub, blankets for a chilly evening and sticks to toast marshmallows on! The hot tub and fire pit were superb, and well used by us! It got soooo hot we were able to stay in for hours! The view was to die for- with rolling fields in front of us, with grazing horses, many different birds and the sound of cows and wildlife all around. It was in a very rural location which meant it was peaceful and tranquil. Lots of towns and cities near enough to get out exploring each day! The host was great at communicating and gave us a very friendly welcome. We would absolutely come back ❤️

WOW- I can’t recommend this listing any more highly. Lou went above and beyond to make our stay special. The drive through her garden/farm to get to the accommodation felt magical, before witnessing the stunning Shepard’s hut. If you’re looking for a cute countryside retreat, this is the one for you. It was so peaceful having a few drinks in the fairly light lit hot tub, before crashing on the large king sized bed. 15 minute drive to cheddar gorge, and only 5 minutes to local pub (or 20 min walk). Lou was super responsive the whole trip and did whatever she could to make our stay feel special. We will definitely be returning next year (potentially with friends as she has another studio with space for 2 more people on a separate listing). Thanks so much :)

100% recommend staying here. The pictures are exactly what it’s like in person and more! The attention to detail was amazing, everything you need for your stay is there. They even had hot chocolate and marshmallows for a cosy night around the fire-pit. Communication with the host was very formative, clear and in timely manner. We would definitely return as it is the perfect relaxing getaway but also walks/restaurants close. Thankyou so much!

we had a amazing 2 night stay at Sally's shepards hut over the bankholiday. Sally is a great host and gave lots of good information on the surrounding areas for activities to do. The garden and hut were kept great and overall it was a really pleasant stay. 5 stars 🌟

Absolutely beautiful cabin to spend a weekend away! My partner and I absolutely loved our stay, the combination of being out in nature with the wood fired hot tub was just amazing. The location is fantastic too, as we drove down to Durdle Door on the Saturday and spent the day in Bath on the Sunday. Angela is a fantastic host and we will definitely be back!

The pictures do not do it justice. The hut itself is wonderful inside, really cosy, homely, and well furnished, and the area is absolutely stunning (plus everything’s walking distance). Dilly was a fantastic host, really friendly and easy to communicate with, plus provided us with some lovely treats (including everything for a bbq and fire!), went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend - in fact, we have done already!
