Summer paradise by Göta Kanal

Gammalrud is a farm, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula, which goes into Lake Viken and is called Vika forests. Here we conduct forestry and lamb production since 1976. Surrounded by the beautiful forest, lake Viken (the highest point of Göta Kanal) and the hospitality of Thord and Ulla, this is your idyllic home away from home. We have renovated the old farm dairy, "Mejeriet", and made it into a nice home that we rent out to guests. The ground floor consists of a hallway, a kitchen suited for 8 persons and a large living room with a cozy fireplace. The living room floor is made of hand-made bricks from the old brickworks in the nearby village Horn. The upper floor consists of one large room with wooden floor and alcoves for 6 persons. At the old canal landing, we have built a large boathouse. Here is a place, not just for boats, but also for gatherings and parties. If you´d like to go fishing you are more than welcome to rent our small boat to try your luck catching pike, perch or any of the other fish in lake Viken. There is also a sauna in the Boathouse. Gammalrud is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages. A full list of previous owners dates back to 1498. In the 1600s, Gammalrud became a manor when the first corp de logi was built by Thord Jönsson Reuterberg. In the 1800s, Gammalrud became part of the Swedish industrial history by one of the owners, Theodor Winborg, also known as “Ättikskungen” , the founder of Winborg´s vinegar and later by his brother in law, Helge Palmqrantz, an inventor and industrialist with machine factories in Stockholm. Both agricultural tools and weapons were made there. A machine gun, designed by Helge Palmqrantz to be part of the defense on Karlsborgs fortress, can be seen at the fortress museum.

Holidays by the lake Unden

In the middle of West Götalands unspoilt nature with its lakes and forests, near the big lake Vättern, about 5 kilometers from the village of Undenäs and far away from any through traffic, the small country village of Igelstad is located, directly on the lake Unden. The village is a small collection of scattered houses and farms, of which some are permanently inhabited, while others are used as summer cottages. Here, in a large clearing in the forest, the small farm "Nolgården" is situated. The house is a separate, well-equipped classic wooden log house, built in spruce. It was thourougly renovated in 2008. There is a private bathroom, kitchen and private terrace, Internet connection (WLAN) and Amazon Fire TV (Magenta TV). A cozy fireplace and electric heating provide comfortable warmth. Directly from the house you can make nice walks in the unspoilt nature, pick berries and mushrooms, or walk to lake Unden, one of the clearest and most pristine lakes in Sweden. From the house to the west side of the peninsula, there is only 800 meters. Here you can have a swim or enjoy the sunset over Unden. The eastern shore can be reached in quarter of an hour via a forest path. By the shore a canoe lies ready for extensive reconnaissance trips to the beautiful deserted islands and quiet bays. But the area has much more to offer: the romantic Tiveden National Park, Lake Viken, Forsvik and the Göta canal with its locks, and the huge lake Vättern are just a few examples of interesting destinations.

En naturskön stuga! Med plats för många eller få. En stuga mitt i naturen men ändå nära till Skara. En kort resa från Hornborgasjön, Varnhem, Axvall, Skara sommarland, Kinnekulle med mera. Stugan ligger avskild med svampskogen inpå knuten. Det finns täcken och kuddar till er alla, ni tar bara med egna sängkläder, handduk med mera. Sjönära stuga på ön Torsö utanför Mariestad

Sjönära stuga i Brommösund 25 minuter utanför Mariestad med närhet till Vänern på ön Torsö med bad, sjöutsikt, tystnad, vandring & båtutflykter. Mysig stuga med delvis sjöutsikt och en vacker vy över omgivande natur och ängar, 6 bäddar i två stugor, stor altan, grill, vedspis och 150 meter till badstrand. Båt- och fisketurer kan arrangeras av värden. Möjlighet att hyra en mindre båt finns. Nära vandringsleder, restaurang, naturreservat och djurliv. Sängkläder, handdukar och parkering ingår.

Cozy house in the forest outside Mariestad

Unwind in this oasis and enjoy the silence in the middle of the forest on one of Sweden's smallest plateau mountains. Not far from the house is Kvarnstensgruvan, where you can explore the mines and eat something. There are many hiking trails and nice walking paths in the area. 8 km away is a swimming lake where you also can buy a fishing license. In winter, it is close to a large toboggan run. Electric car chargers are available. Cleaning is not included, but can be purchased for SEK 800.

Island Hideaway by Lake Östen

Welcome to our cozy guesthouse on a serene island in the Tidan River, Sweden, with easy road access. Just 25 minutes from Skövde (1h by train to Gothenburg) and Mariestad, it’s perfectly placed for exploring Sweden’s biggest lake, Vänern, and Billingen, a UNESCO Global Geopark offering great skiing in winter. Enjoy birdwatching at Lake Östen on the bird towers near by, stroll through our garden, or unwind in the yoga cottage by the water. The forests nearby offer berries and mushrooms.

Sovrum med dubbelsäng samt två sängar som fälls ut ur soffan. Tjock bäddmadrass.Familj med fler barn kan ta kontakt med värden.Gästen slutstädar.Sänglinnen finns men vid ett dygns hyrning ser vi att gästen har med sig. Annars kostar det 100 kr per säng. Erläggs direkt till värden. Städning kan fås emot 400 kr.Betalas till värden.

Här bor ni bekvämt med gott om plats för både familjer, vänner och arbetsresenärer som vill ha ett praktiskt boende nära stan. Tomten är lummig och grönskande, med en altan i soligt söderläge. För barn finns gräsytor att leka på. Ni bor nära både Vänerns vatten (450 m) och resecentrum (1,6 km).”

A typical charming Swedish red cottage in lovely surroundings. Around 15 min walk to a beautiful lake Toften. Swimming, fishing, birdwatching, hiking, mountainbike ride, ice skating in the winter. Quiet, cosy cottage in central Säffle

We have a little cottage in our garden, situated near the centre of the town Säffle. There are two beds, a kitchen with refrigerator, sink, two stove plates and microwave if you want to cook on your own, and newly rebuilt bathroom with shower. See pictures. The surroundings are nice, close to shopping and strolling along the river Byälven. You find lake Vänern in 6km distance, where you summertime can take a bath.

Lantlig torpidyll

Här råder stillheten och lugnet, i omgivningar som hämtade ur en Astrid Lindgren-saga. Du bor närmsta granne med åkrar, skog och hagar, vid foten av Kinnekulle. Torpet ligger i direkt anslutning till Vänerleden och 1,5 km bort ansluter Biosfärleden. Närhet till kinnekulles vandringsleder, mountainbike tracks och kulturella sevärdheter. Både Skara Sommarland och Läckö slott ligger inom några mils avstånd.

Fristående hus på villatomt

Min "stuga" ligger 1 mil utanför Skövde centrum. Skara Sommarland hittar du 2,8 mil bort. Paddelbanor, hop n pop samt jump yard hittar du inom 6 km. Billingeberget erbjuder slalombacke, längdskidor, skridskor, vandringsleder, mountainbikespår, fiske, utomhusbad samt bikepark för barn. Billingen tar du dej till i bil på 12 minuter. Skövde Äventyrsbad tar du dej till med bil på 10 minuter.
