We loved our stay. It was quiet, a perfect location away from heavy lake traffic. We were able to paddle board and sit on the dock. Overall, we were pleased. It could use some spring cleanup, but we just assumed that will come later, before the busy vacation season begins. Our daughter enjoyed privacy in the Cub House—and she’s a teenager. Had everything you would need for a trip. Kayaks were great for James River, and the location was very private and secluded.

What a lovely home! And so nicely decorated and well laid out. There was plenty of room for our group of hikers. The location was perfect due to its proximity to the Appalachian Trail. My sister does a lot of cooking and the kitchen had just about everything we needed. We felt so at home that we will try to stay again if we get around to finishing the southern part of Shenandoah NP. Of course, the MAIN thing anyone needs while on vacation is a good night's sleep. The beds were SO comfortable and we slept very well. The big backyard was also a bonus. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Cozy stay with my husband and dog for a week. We ventured into Shenandoah park most days and loved how it was about a quick drive to the entrance (we mostly went to the southern district for our hikes). The jacuzzi in the bear cave after a long day of hikes was perfect way to unwind! We had great weather but I could see if there was inclement weather going outside to the bear cave area for washer/dryer could be tough. But overall loved the house and would recommend!

What a gem! Our family of 5 enjoyed everything about our stay at Hillside Hideaway. Comfortable and cozy atmosphere, very clean. We all enjoyed the hot tub each evening and lazing in the hammock for some down time between hiking and sightseeing. The kiddos loved the books, games, toys, and swing. Rhonda was a great host with easy communication and very clear instructions about the home. We wish we could've stayed longer!

An absolute gem of a place - modern comforts nestled away in a completely private setting. Close enough to towns for eats if you want and super close to Shenandoah NP for exploring/hikes yet far enough away from everyone to see the stars at night the way they should be seen. The cottage was super clean and very well set up offering everything you’d need to have a great rainy day if needed indoors. Will come back for sure as we missed a few trails and wineries. Must see the Grand Caverns and visit Lil’ Gus for a burger just a short ride South. We were very fortunate and stayed during the Elkton Spring Festival in town for small town carnival fun without the city shenanigans we get at home.

We stayed here for a mini honeymoon for a week and it was amazing! So peaceful and quiet. The hot tub was a great bonus! Perfect location for exploring Skyline drive and the Caverns. GORGEOUS sunsets right behind the cottage, with amazing Mountain View’s right out the front! Plus the bed was super comfortable! We didn’t get to meet Scott, but he was super responsive and helpful with local recommendations. He made everything simple from checking to checking out. 10/10 would book again!

We had such a great stay! Our family really enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub after our days of hiking. We appreciated the great small touches including the s'more ingredients, the delicious brownies, and seperate towels for the hot tub. The backyard is so peaceful. The house was very spacious and clean for a family of 4 that included 2 college aged kids. I highly recommend this place. Thank you so much!

Our family had the best stay at Amy’s place! It was clean, well stocked and the beds were super comfortable! The fire pit out back was so nice to relax after a day of exploring and wine tasting. We would definitely stay here again!

Mary Scott and Mark's cottage was a wonderful little getaway. The cottage was quaint and cozy. Check-in instructions were very clear and our hosts were very responsive. It was a great location with beautiful surroundings and had many things to do within a 20-25 min radius. Downtown Charlottesville and Monticello were close by and were great day activities. We also really enjoyed the Glass House Winery which was about 5 min away. Beautiful home, highly recommend!

The pink cottage is nestled in nature, but also in the city. We were able to head toward UVA campus or out toward Ivy with ease. The place is both quirky and quaint - an artistically steeped homebase.

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

Charles's cottage was just as described and depicted in the profile. It is surrounded by beautiful farmland and close to lots of local attractions, including vineyards and breweries. Very peaceful and quiet.

My wife and I have been visiting this space for a few years and always enjoy ourselves. This cottage is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful! We look forward to coming back each year. I will continue to rent from Mike and Leslie again and again. Always a pleasant experience!

The house was great for our group. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio. It was hot when we were there and the AC worked well. We put in our kayak right from the back yard and enjoyed paddling on the river. It was an easy walk to Main Street and Bridgewater College. We will definitely look to book again if we are back in the Bridgewater area.

Wonderful stay in a well appointed and cozy but not small Airbnb. Pleasant decor and furnishings. They really thought of EVERYTHING to include down to flashlights and travel coffee mugs (and more). Their guidebook was super helpful and Carolyn even helped me understand if grocery stores would be open on Easter Sunday, our arrival date. The king mattress was super comfortable. Great location, nearby so many attractions. We would happily stay there again.

Will be back before the summer ends! We took numerous trips last year trying to find the ideal cabin getaway and this is it! Perfect weekend getaway for those who love outdoors and to unwind on a river. My girls caught their first fish and they love the shallow dock for easy access in the river

Fairwood Cottage was a wonderful place to stay! A quick 10-minute drive to Charlottesville, but in a quiet rural setting. The cottage was super clean. very comfortable, with everything we needed and lots of special touches. We enjoyed sitting outside to relax at the fire bowl after a day visiting Charlottesville. We’ve visited the area several times but this is our favorite by far and we will be back! Thank you for the hospitality!

The highlight of this stay was the gorgeous beaverdam waterfall, but the cottage is also lovely - very charming and comfortable. You can tell that Beau has put a lot of thought into making the property welcoming, and when I had an issue with the wifi router, he and Leah were very quick to address the issue, even though it was late in the evening. My dogs and I did several wonderful hikes in the Washington and Jefferson National forest, and it was nice to be able to come back to such a comfortable and relaxing space afterwards.
