A gem on a tranquil river - the perfect hideaway for a romantic weekend.

This was my first experience being I the countryside and it will not be my last. I loved our stay and did not want to go back home to hustle and bustle of London life. The cabin was beautiful, squeaky clean and had all the amenities needed. The welcome cake was a lovely gift and tasted amazing. I will be back again for sure!

Thanks to Phillip's instructions I had no difficulty finding the cottage which I reached via footpaths from the railway station. The cottage was delightful and situated along a really quiet lane. The garden area was very beautiful and a great place to sit in the warm sunshine. Easy access to Martin Mere WWT was via a series of well-signposted footpaths, and a lovely canal walk took me into Burscough. I also enjoyed a pleasant walk to Mere Sands Wood near Rufford. An extremely pleasant stay, ideal for recharging the batteries, and I'm particularly grateful for the weather. Is Lancashire always this warm and sunny or was it just the after-effect of Liverpool FC winning the league?

We had a lovely one night stay here. The hot tub was the biggest attraction and didn’t disappoint. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and cosy. We also appreciated the restaurant recommendations and found a lovely place to eat in Lytham. Thank you!

This place is a jewel on the Airbnb site and perfect in every way. It has everything done to the highest speck you could ask for. The host could do no more for you. The bed was so comfortable that we slept for hours and hours. It had everything we needed and a bonus of being offered warm scones too❤️

We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be staying again. It’s something different and so peaceful! We sat outside and lit a fire and looked out at the amazing views. Thankyou so much for our stay we can’t wait to come back!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner who was lambing. We were shown lambs that were 15 minutes old! Very friendly owners who are clearly passionate about what they do. The shepherds hut was very clean throughout and very cosy with the underfloor heating. The little personal touches throughout really made the place feel homely. We walked into town which didn't take long and found a great selection of pubs and food available, as advertised. Attached to the side of the hut their was a little sheltered area with the wood burning stove and BBQ. Even in a cold wind, this area was toasty with the burner on. Even if the weather turned, you'd be fine having a BBQ outside here. All in all, a brilliant little place that we will be returning to

Absolutely spotless, so clean and tidy. Lots of extra bedding, blankets and sheets. The caravan smelt so lovely and was very well equipt with lots of plates, glasses, cutlery and everything we needed!! There were 2 adults and 6 children and we had lots of space! Diane was a great host and we cant wait to stay again!

Gillian was really welcoming. Really cute stay and felt very special. I instantly felt relaxed there. Gillian had thought of everything; board games, outdoor area, little touches with it been a birthday occasion, hot water bottles and blankets for if it was colder. I imagine it would be really cute in winter time too!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Shepherd’s Hut (Hillside Hut). From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, cosy, and thoughtfully prepared. The hut itself is beautifully designed, full of charm and little touches that make it feel so welcoming. It was also spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the wood-burning stove made the evenings so warm and relaxing. Everything you could possibly need is provided, from a well-equipped kitchen to lovely outdoor seating where you can enjoy the views and the quiet countryside. The location is perfect, peaceful and private, yet still close enough to explore nearby villages and local walks. We loved how quiet and calm it was; it really is the perfect place to unwind and escape everyday life. The hosts (Joanne & Steve) were brilliant too, friendly, helpful, and respectful of our privacy, which made the stay even better. We would absolutely love to return again very soon and would highly recommend this little

The piggery was a lovely little find ,breathtaking views , tranquility,lovely to watch in the evening as all the lights come on in the valley,and count the stars , all in all a great stay thanks Barry for the chat ,and Bosco for the cuddles

Derek and Kath are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome even before we arrived. Ruby's hut is an absolute gem - its clean, spacious and in a stunning location with lovely views. It has everything you need for your stay, with good WiFi and large TV with the usual streaming services. We particularly liked the BBQ hut which is ideal in all weather conditions and makes for a cosy place to eat and chill in addition to the main hut. The surroundings are fantastic with plenty of walks in all directions. Derek is a gent and an exemplary host who is responsive to any needs but also respects guests privacy - the ideal balance. The hot tub / jacuzzi was great and we also had a fire pit and gas BBQ, so everything you need. Overall we had an exceptional stay and it's only a matter of time before we visit again. Absolutely lovely place. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night. It was very comfortable and cozy, beautifully decorated, and had spectacular views. The gardens around are relaxing, and the area is quiet. Would be a great home base for visiting the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Liverpool/Manchester. Would love to come back again!

Just the break away we needed! Sarah’s place was absolutely spotless and everything has been carefully thought out. The bathroom is beautifully decorated and the kitchen area makes a great use of space. We had a lovely night inside, playing games with some (much needed) drinks and listening to the radio. Equally, a gorgeous evening on night two at a local pub. Arriving to a baked loaf and milk in the fridge was very much appreciated as we forgot to bring either! Stanley 🐾 enjoyed his treats too was grateful of the water bowl provided - as we also forgot his 🫣! Overall, the place is stunning inside and out. Sarah was proactive with check in/out detail and was a fab host. We’d love to stay again!

A lovely quick night away, it is in a very relaxing setting close by to town. We walked down the canal (which is beautiful!) and had a couple of drinks and headed back for a relaxing evening. A lovely touch having some games to play - we played cards! Victoria is extremely proactive in her responses and welcomed us to the property! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful stay in deluxe dens, The Burrow. Accommodation as described and perfect for what we needed. Large veranda with 6 chairs which got the afternoon sun, ample space for 2 cars to park, mezzanine beds and fold down bed in dining area particularly comfortable. Sofa bed fine for a night or 2. Plenty kitchenware. 1st and 2nd night there were 2 adults 2 kids, 3rd night 2 additional adults. I'd say it's ideal for 4 without everyone having to be up and super organised to still get on. The park is beautiful and not crowded, the staff are friendly, beach is 5 minute walk and lots of other walks. Bowling was great, shop was stocked well, restaurant and bar were good with lots of choice, kids enjoyed the swimming and the parks. A little warning on the mainly single track roads/road closures would be a great addition to communications. Will definitely look to come back to Silverdale or one of the other Holgates parks. Highly recommend.

This property was beautiful, and as described. I would go as far as saying it exceeded our expectations. It felt like a home from home. We visited with our dog and a lovely touch was the dog basket with blankets, towels and treats. It was spotlessly clean and had all the little things that you seem to forget when going away for a few days (salt, pepper, cleaning products). The host was very attentive and sent us so much information beforehand (where to visit, eat, local shops etc.) The property was situated in a quiet area with a little pond opposite us, it was lovely to see the ducks plodding along throughout the day. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants a few days relaxation, sight seeing and peace and quiet to give this property a go!

Michael was great with communication and very helpful before our stay. Straight from our arrival Barbara was lovely, warm and welcoming. Her home, gardens and guest buildings are stunning and very well taken care of, everything was ready for us to use straight away. The pool is spotless and so warm, we spent more time in there than the hot tub! We were completely left in privacy and didn't see Barbara again until she made us a fabulous breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend, thanks for a lovely stay!

Stayed two nights at Laura's with my son for my birthday. Beautiful location, fantastic cabin, well equipped, clean and cosy. Great location for things to see and do. Spent the day at Leighton Moss, a few miles away, which is great. Highly recommend this beautiful place. Particularly enjoyed the bench by the lake watching the birds and the baby Coots. We had a great stay at the lodge. Great location with plenty of walks nearby. Easy to find, great communication from the host and loads of little extras in the lodge such as board games, dvds and dishwasher. Lodge itself was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Spotless, cosy, friendly/helpful host (Emma), unique & peaceful. Absolutely perfect for the night before and the night after walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Highly recommend!!

Great place to relax and just do what you want. Can get local takeaways delivered straight to the main gate. Has a grill and oven that heats up on the grill to do pizza. Beer/Wine fridge. All kitchen utensils provided, towels, robes. Great Jacuzzi, however we went when it was red hot ( still got in it). We slept outside on the big bed watching the big sceeen. Highly recommended.
