This place looks a little odd from the outside but it is very cool inside! It was well stocked and super clean and the nice backyard with deer and fox running around was magical. The driveway was pure mud but we hit the spring thaw and that is to be expected. We would definitely stay here again!

The building used to be a school and is still an active community center. The place isn't really renovated beyond the essentials. Most of the building is unchanged and still looks just like the 1930s school it once was, and inside the room there is still school furniture all over and blackboards and a bell on the wall... it really feels like you're stepping into a scene in Copper Country history mostly frozen in time, but with some modern amenities dropped in through a time machine. 10/10.

Very inventive use of space. Plenty of room for doing yoga. Lots to do in the area. We were there for an anniversary getaway, and they even had a card and some sparkling apple juice with champagne glasses for us! We liked being part of the effort to restore this historic building. It might be worth noting that there are lots of stairs and no elevators. My spouse has a bad knee, but we managed. It does reference the fact that this is on the third floor in the write-up, I think I just didn't think about the fact that there might not be an elevator. This was a good value and we were very happy with our stay.

I’ve been to dozens upon dozens of Airbnb‘s. Michelle and Dave’s place was hands-down my favorite. Wonderful family, and a beautiful pair of dogs to love as well! My daughter’s and I absolutely loved our stay. We will definitely be back.

We had such a peaceful trip and will 100% be back for a longer trip. The views are absolutely amazing, the lake is clean and beautiful. So quite and relaxing. Ely has some nice restaurants and we are looking forward to coming back to explore more.

Joan and Don’s place was beautiful and they were very responsive. Don built much of the place by hand which is impressive! We enjoyed seeing faint northern lights, playing board games at the big table, cooking in the chefs kitchen, and baking in the sauna by the lake. For a remote winter getaway with a large group, this is the place.

We came up with a few hockey families for a tournament. It was the perfect set up for us. Place was amazing and Jim is an excellent host! Will definitely recommend to our friends in the future!

This was our group’s second visit and it was just as good as the first. The lodge is comfortable and spacious, and the property is picturesque. It is a quiet and private location, but still convenient distance to gas and stores. We want for nothing while we’re there. Looking forward to hopefully coming back next year!

We love this beautiful home and property, with loads of secluded shoreline. This is our second family gathering here, and we greeted the loon family and bald eagle family as we kayaked this wonderful lake. The home is gorgeous and mid-century unique, with all new renovations. It's a jewel of a place!

We really enjoyed our weekend get away. Had fun with gameroom and theater and even caught some nice fish! House was clean and spacious.

The home is exactly as pictured & listed. Spacious. Everything imaginable provided! Lots of extra pillows & blankets. Quiet & private feeling. Reya answered our questions thoroughly- and always in plenty of time. She thought ahead to give us instructions on how to find the house. Without those directions, GPS may not bring to the correct driveway. We were surprised to find a delicious “snack” left for us upon arrival. We would stay here again. It was so nice! Thank you!!
