Sam truly exemplifies what it means to be a superhost. The place was ready well before our arrival, and Sam had thoughtfully curated a list of activities for us to make the most of our brief one-day stay. One of the highlights was the Kathakali show, a delightful surprise that Sam recommended. The location of Sam's place, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions, made our stay even more enjoyable and convenient. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

This place is very special and idyllic: you have your privacy (the room and a vast, shady terrace) while staying with a big, warm-hearted and caring family at the same time (they live downstairs and next door). Delicious, generous meals were cooked for me, extra fruit was served at any time and everybody was ready to help whenever needed. Manu is an excellent host, communication was prompt and we even had long and interesting conversations. The surroundings and the views of the water, the nature and the beautiful sunset are amazing and very relaxing. Best of all was an early morning boat tour around the area with Manu's father, seeing birds of all kinds, the people of the neighbourhood doing their morning chores (smiling and waving at me in such a friendly way) and getting an idea of how daily life is in this area. I enjoyed that 2 1/2 hours trip immensly. I recommend Manu' s place if you want to know the Backwaters away from the tourist crowds and in a very authentic way.

I had a fantastic stay at Sam's place. The location is superb @ the heart of Fort Kochi, beautiful neighbourhood . The other best part has been Sam himself. It was like meeting an old friend. He has wonderful recommendations for your itinerary and restaurants and is extremely well networked within the community. please use him for last minute event plannings.. Truly Grateful! Fantastic Stay!

Sam is an amazing host with amazing house and location, doing justice to the home stay culture. If in Kochi, Sam's place is the one to stay. close to beach, restaurants. Nice breakfast provided by him was cherry on the cake.

Manu’s place is set on the beautiful and somewhat hidden Kuthiathode backwater, perfect for a quiet and relaxed stay. Manu himself was very kind and lovely to chat with. The food served was delicious, and we loved the sunset backwater boat ride his father took us on - many birds to be seen! We also borrowed bikes and cycled to a lovely beach about 10km away. We’d highly recommend to others looking for a less busy backwater experience.
