Our secluded cabins are on top of a mountain with on-property access to the Doe Mountain Recreational Area Trail #15. Close to National and State Parks, Skiing, Hiking, Watauga Lake, Boone and Blowing Rock, NC; Damascus and Abingdon, VA . We are centrally located to major attractions but be careful if sightseeing, adventure, or family fun is on your agenda. Once you are here, you might not want to leave. The North Star Dome

Camp on our pick-your-own flower farm & petting zoo! This is camping, elevated with style & comfort. We provide the climate controlled dome, comfy bed (bring your own sheets), griddle, and basic supplies. Bring your own queen size bedding/sleeping bags, water, cooler, & firewood. Rustic outdoor shower is OPEN till October 1st! The Dome is nestled on our farm's off-grid hilltop, with tremendous mountain views. There are trails, farm animals to visit, & seasonal flowers/veggies to pick!

Float the SoHo or Watauga without dealing with Boone. ATV/RV/Boat parking. Enjoy your morning coffee on the new back porch. Kitchen fully equipped. Queen bedroom and king floor mattress in loft. Hang out by the fire pit at night and take in the sunrise from the front porch swing.

Hear the sounds of the creek right behind the cabin and cross the bridge to see the horses! This Land was home to the Cherokees and offers not only a place to stay but an experience. One time PET FEE $100.00 for ONE small dog under 30lb, additional small dogs $35/each

Scott Hill Cabin #2

This is our second cabin built by hand. It has a kitchen with a stove, mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. It also has basic cooking necessities. The cabin has a full size bed. The restroom has a sink and stand up shower. We will provide towels and linens. Despite the listing saying 2 beds, it is in fact, 1 double bed. Sorry for the listing mistake. We allow pets, but ask for prior knowledge. We are just minutes from 2 separate trailheads to the Appalachian Trail.

Don't worry, we have electricity, running water, and fiber optic WiFi. We feature a two-story, separate guest house in beautiful surroundings with a master suite upstairs including a queen bed, reading corner, TV area, and full bath. Downstairs you will find a kitchen, small bedroom, and a half-bath.

Mountaintop Vistas of NC/TN/VA

Your first-floor suite has a Tennessee bedroom, one bath, and another bedroom off the living room separated by privacy curtains. Enjoy a fireplace, a dining room, and three private exterior entries. You also have a large patio with a fire pit, grill, and 3-person hot tub! You also may use the 7-foot square hot tub on the hangar patio if you like. Hike the TN/NC line on our ridge. Hike into the gorge for rock climbing, swimming, and flumes.

The Cottage at Historic Sutherland Manor est. 1807

Helene update: the farm is undamaged and roads leading to it are passable. This farm cottage is located on a historic 40 acre farmstead behind a beautiful farmhouse (which is under renovation) with views of The Peak, Ashe County’s highest mountain. We are bordering Elk Knob State Park and a 10 minute drive to the park entrance. The farm is located in the historic Sutherland valley district and was built in 1807 by Thomas Sutherland.

This lovely weekender or longer-term getaway retreat is +- 750 square feet of cozy comfortable space. It is a very nicely appointed rustic cabin of modern studio design. It has everything you need for that affordable vacation away from it all and is nestled on a prominent site among 15 surrounding acres of lush forest. Build a fire in the wood burning fireplace or outside in the firepit. Grill outside, sit and listen to the birds.
