Isle of Wight : séjours à la ferme

Just returned from a long weekend, staying at The Barn at Rotherwood. We were a group of 4 adults (2 couples) and had a great time. The Barn was perfect for us - really comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Debbie was very responsive and left us a really generous welcome hamper for our arrival - thank you Debbie! It was perfectly situated, on the edge of Itchenor, and was easy to get to Chichester, Bosham and the Witterings from there. We would recommend staying here!

We highly recommend this property and host. My husband and I stayed over Christmas with my elderly, and mobility limited, father-in-law. The host was very accurate in describing the layout and accessibility for my father-in-law. The property was well stocked with everything we needed, clean and inviting, was decorated for us for Christmas and is in a beautiful quiet setting. The host was very responsive to my communications and very accommodating to our changing guest and pet numbers on Christmas Day. A very tasty locally sourced breakfast hamper was left for us, including milk, bread and eggs from their own chickens. Easy access to beautiful walks and short drive to town and coast. We had such a good, relaxing stay we are looking to return in the summer.

kerries property is a little gem, cant rate it high enough. Location and surrounds are so peacful, even though Chichester is on your doorstep. And there are also good pubs near by. its a great place torelax and unwind. Animals were an added bonus for my grandaughter fingers crosseded we are hoping to come back in the summer.

This AirBnB was perfect for what I needed it for. Close to Goodwood, quiet and accommodating. Clare is an extremely friendly host, quick in responding and very easy to talk to. Certainly would seem like the person who would go that extra step should it be needed. But that wasn’t needed in my stay as the place was good for what I needed.

Had a lovely stay at Caister cottage. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation was exactly as we had hoped. Lovely setting with walks straight from the house into the new forest. Easy to walk to several pubs and into Lyndhurst.

We were a group of 6 friends meeting up for a staycation. We had the best time! The barn was really lovely with such an amazing surrounding area. The bedroom I was in downstairs had a great view in the morning watching the sunrise over the field with all the sheep. The barn size was perfect for the 6 of us, with the large dining table to enjoy meals. We got lucky with the beautiful weather, so enjoyed the outdoor seating area. The upstairs snug space was really nice to spend the evening relaxing together. The drive had space for all 4 of our cars & definitely could fit more. Guy was a brilliant host, very quick to reply to any questions. Thanks for a lovely stay, I definitely would LOVE to return!

Geweldig en ruime accommodatie! Opgemaakte bedden bij aankomst en zelfs verse bloemen op de keukentafel. Gastvrouw verwelkomt ons direct bij aankomst, ook al zijn we wat te vroeg. We krijgen een korte rondleiding. In de accommodatie zijn verschillende brochures te vinden met activiteiten en wandelingen in de buurt. De pub op 15 minuten stappen is ook een aanrader! Wijzelf kozen voor activiteiten die iets verder gelegen waren, maar ook daarvoor is dit huisje een goede uitvalsbasis.

We had a very lovely stay over bank holiday weekend. The studio was very comfortable, especially the bed. Great big window letting in the views. We loved the walk to the beach via Medmerry RSPB reserve, as did our dogs, even on a drizzly and blustery day. Very warm and friendly welcome by the hosts, and gorgeous resident dog

We have just spent three nights at Poplar Farm Barns and enjoyed our time hugely. The barns are beautifully renovated with high-end fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Immaculately clean as well. The surroundings are lovely with excellent views from the property. My kids loved the free-roaming chickens, and the horses in the neighbouring field. Holly and Charley were very welcoming and friendly. Everything was just as we’d hoped and our family will definitely return.

Just had the most amazing weekend away with my friends at The Barn. Tim was so helpful and friendly and pointed us in the right direction to walk to the beach. The property is amazing, spotless with lots of added extras to make your stay brilliant. The fire pit was great to sit round of an evening and have a nice drink in the huge well maintained garden. I do not have a bad word to say! Keep up the great work. We will be back next year!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay and very relaxing. The property was more than we expected and very well presented. We were very comfortable and even the beds were some of the best we have had. We were made very welcome and left alone. I would recommend staying there.

Tim and Anna were incredibly responsive from the day we booked and even gave us a video tour of the barns before we arrived! Everything was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The two barns worked very well in terms of space but we had issues with the internet in the garden barn which was a bit frustrating, though Tim tried his utmost to improve it.

The house was stunning and perfect for our family getaway with a lovely communal open plan space but also private space in the bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and showers which was a huge bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed and we were greeted on arrival by the host. We all had a wonderful stay.

Immaculate well equipped property in a quiet location and with easy access to Chichester as well as lovely small coastal villages and beautiful countryside. Jo gave us clear instructions for finding/accessing the property and a long list of suggestions for places to eat. We hope to return to visit the area again in the not too distant future and won't hesitate to stay at 'The Hayloft' if it's available. One of the best AirBnB places we've stayed at. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing few days away staying in this beautiful accommodation. The host were in communication all the time when needed. The area is stunning with lots of things close by to do. Will definitely come back to stay. 😊

Ron’s house was perfect for our group of three families. We each had private rooms with bathrooms and the kids had a lovely room with a bathroom too. We loved the big dinning table, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the house was warm and comfortable, with beautiful views. Ron and Susan were very helpful with logistics and the communication was easy. We had the best time and we would love to get back some time!

We stayed at Nicky’s place for a week and it was just perfect for us. On arrival it was spotlessly clean and had a lovely feel to it. The beds were really comfortable with lovely bedding. The kitchen is well equipped and I made a couple of meals there. There isn’t a huge amount of space to store food so if you are looking to cook I wouldn’t bring more than a couple of days worth of food. It was perfect to whip up breakfast though and a couple of pasta dishes. I would definitely recommend eating out though as the local restaurants were fantastic and we particularly liked the Spyglass in Ventnor, the Fisherman’s Cottage in Shanklin and the Cow at Tapnell Farm. The location is great and Ventnor (10 mins away) and Shanklin (20 mins away) were our fav places to visit. The coastal road along the south of the island was also a beautiful drive. I would highly recommend Nicky’s place if you’re looking for somewhere to stay on the Isle of Wight. I would definitely return. Thanks, Nicky 😊

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. As a family of 9 (5 adults and 4 children) the space was fantastic. Every bedroom was really spacious and an en suite in every room was a fantastic bonus - no queues for the shower in the morning! Ron and his family were friendly, really helpful with recommendations for places to visit and extremely reasonable when it came to 4 noisy children running around in the morning! Every amenity you could think of was available - cots, bed guards, BBQ equipment, the works! I would highly recommend to anyone with a large family wanting a peaceful and beautiful location to stay on the Isle of Wight.

Fantastic location for walking & exploring. The barn is beautifully presented and stylishly furnished. Very spacious. Loved seeing the Llamas on our morning walk with our dog - on our doorstep. The New Inn pub down the road - Victoria’s tip - awesome, friendly, great food at a sensible price - try the venison or brill filets! Our only regret was that we didn’t stay for longer. Thank you team Shalfleet Farm.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and lots of lovely personal touches. Great place to stay with children and a dog. Will certainly be back.

We had a superb stay at the Old Barn! Kristina and Nick are fantastically kind, thoughtful and discreet hosts - brilliant with communications, massively helpful. The setting is perfect - rural, tranquil, yet close to everything you need - just a few minutes by car from Yarmouth or a short, pretty walk across fields. As for the Old Barn - it is stunning! Such a clever, luxurious, beautiful design. Amazing bedrooms with really comfortable beds and fantastic views, an excellent bathroom and such spacious and elegant downstairs areas, a real treat for our family. There's a lovely secluded garden area and a hot tub. Really well-equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need - and the whole house provides the perfect combination of luxury and practicality. In conclusion: the Old Barn is paradise! We wished we could stay longer and absolutely can't wait to return. Thanks so much to Kristina, Nick (and their very sweet and charming sons!) for such a fabulous stay.

Susan and Phil were amazing. They welcomed us to their home, showed us were we will be staying and explained everything to us. They made us feel right at home. The cottage was exactly what we expected and was just right for us. Had all the utensils including pots and pan (though we ate out most of the time) lovely location and very tranquil, it is a working farm which we loved. Loved the evening walks around the farm and feeding apples to Monty and midnight (horses). I would highly recommend staying here. WiFi was good, not the 1gb we are used to but was enough to do emails and stream a movie with the kids in the evenings. Lovely place for the kids and main thing was dog friendly :). Can’t recommend this place, Susan and Phil enough! Highly recommended!!!!
