We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

This has to be one of the most beautiful places we stayed at . It has such a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. We loved every single thing about the stay including the hammock which was undoubtedly my favourite spot. Our host Alton was the sweetest. He helped us before we got there with clear instructions and was super friendly during our stay. He was extremely helpful when I was feeling a little uneasy one of the days and even helped me with meditations. We would totally recommend his place for a romantic getaway!

This home is so charming, dripping in history, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. It feels so off the beaten path but Charlottesville is within easy reach. You feel a real sense of peacefulness and calm here, and Virginia is a very responsive host.

We had a lovely second stay at Wildwood! Accommodated two families with several kiddos easily and comfortably. Space is private with beautiful views of mountains and near a number of wineries and interesting things to do (one day we visited Monticello and another day we drove into Charlottesville, for example). Super cozy inside with tons of places outside for kids to run around. Great experience all around.

I had a wonderful stay. Ruthann’s place was beautiful both inside and out. The room was spacious, spotless, and full of light, perfect for a solo traveler. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, great water pressure in the shower. I especially loved the raised nook beside the bed; it was a lovely place to begin the day, reading by the morning light and listening to the birds. The private patio is peaceful, a well-shaded garden with comfortable furnishings; you can spend all day out there. Ruthann is just lovely. Her instructions for parking and accessing the space were clear, and she was very responsive and checked in with me each day. It was great to chat. I felt very welcome. I appreciated all the little touches, from snacks and water to the collection of DVDs. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope to stay again!

Sarah and her husband are very kind and share their home with care. My husband and I had a very comfortable stay. The $20/person a breakfast sounds like a lot but it was well worth it! Sarah and her husband made one of the best breakfasts we have ever had AND it is a LOT of fresh, organic food, definitely worth it. We didn’t even have to eat lunch that day. The space is great for people wanting privacy or wanting to say hello to their guest visitor. Would highly recommend to anyone and would go again. The internet is weak, but you don’t go to the mountains for the internet haha. Just recommend downloading offline maps and if you need to video chat, Elkton has good signal. Loved going to Shenandoah. Perfect anniversary stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The location is stunning, the farm manager is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the cows were so fun! We will definitely consider a return visit!

The yurt was a cozy and comfortable place to make loads of great memories with our family. The host was very responsive to any questions we had and the accommodations and location felt magical. Our family enjoyed the easy walking trails, campfires, and the hot tub overlooking the mountains. We highly recommend this special spot!

Sarah and Kyle were excellent hosts! Very communicative, quick to respond, easy to work with. I was impressed at how thoughtful they were towards guests with all the little details and offerings in the tent and at the site. It cut down a lot on what we had to pack - particularly the wood!! The creek was fun, I loved spotting the fish, snakes, crayfish, snails, and other wildlife.

My family was attending a wedding and Patti’s Place was perfect for my whole family. Big bathroom for us to share with plenty of big clean towels for all of us (5). Well equipped kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out every meal. The loft was a huge hit for the kids as well as being next to the horses. Only things to be aware of is that the front door was hard to keep shut and there were no matches/lighters or wood. So make sure to BYO to enjoy the lovely fire pit outside. Patti was responsive and the checkout tasks were not too overwhelming. Thank you for having us.

This was the perfect place for my family (including a toddler) and my parents to come together to stay while visiting extended family in the Culpeper area. Highly recommend.

A very nice place, cozy and very clean. Even though it rained and we couldn't enjoy the hot tub, it didn't stop us from enjoying it. It has everything you need.

This home was an ideal meeting place for a girls trip with us being from different parts of the state! The home exceeded our expectations, was very comfortable, and had plenty of beautiful outdoor space as well. It was close to things we wanted to do in Waynesboro, Charlottesville, and everywhere in between! Highly recommend!

WOW! This cabin in the clouds was truly a peaceful place. The house and decor are immaculate, and the host truly thought of everything you might need. She was not kidding about the driveway being steep and wind-y but we all made it up with our sedans and enjoyed the mountain air and views for a perfect girls getaway. The house has so much character and such a nice experience.

We had a girls weekend at the Manor and had the best time. The home was beautiful and comfortably slept all 13 of our guests. We had plenty of space in each common area for all of us, and the decor was amazing. The house had everything we needed. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful - they even gave us recommendations to help with our planning, and answered all of our questions before our stay. We highly recommend staying here!

Staying at Steven’s cottage felt like stepping into a little hidden world—quiet, peaceful, and full of character. There’s something about the land that immediately makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. The cottage itself is rich with history but also incredibly cozy and thoughtfully set up for comfort. We spent mornings (& evenings) by the lake, listening to the wind move through the trees, and eventually ended each night under the stars in the hot tub. We kept saying how there was no need to go anywhere—though everything is nearby, we didn’t want to leave. Everything we needed to relax was right there. We were outside hiking trails, swaying in hammocks, soaking up the views, and enjoying the fire pits. The axe throwing game was such a fun surprise, and inside, the glow of the gas fireplace made everything feel extra cozy. Steven is a great host—& takes pride in his beautiful piece of land. More than a stay—it’s a full experience, and one we won’t forget anytime soon.

The views are spectacular, I will be dreaming about the sunrise view for years. It was the perfect place to bring in the new year. Hugh was very helpful with recommendations for hikes and information about the area. Highly recommended for a secluded mountain stay.

We had a large group at the compound by the swinging bridge for New Years and it was absolutely ideal! We played games by the fire place, cooked delicious meals, relaxed in the sauna and hot tub, danced and watched movies in the game room, laughed around the fire pits, played frisbee in the lawn, and watched an incredible double rainbow over the river after a thunderstorm. The beds were very comfortable and the vibe was cozy and lived in. Taki was great to communicate with and we’re very thankful to him and his family for creating such a sanctuary. We definitely hope to return!

The house was beautiful, not a lot of things in the house which I like it was tastefully decorated. Beautiful scenery. Woke up to 4 horses surrounding the house they were super friendly. My only complaint is I think the light switches in the house need to be labeled. There are several and we had to flip through all of them to figure out which ones did what. Also for almost $1000 for two nights stay that’s a bit high, if I wasn’t looking for something close to my daughters venue for her wedding I would probably have stayed elsewhere. Besides that if the price is lower I would go back.

This is a hidden gem if you’re looking for a quiet retreat or are hiking around Shenandoah! The farm is so cute, and Kelly and her family are so welcoming. There was clear communication to prepare for our stay, and Kelly was quick to respond to any questions. The place was clean and well organized, having everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect - peaceful at the base of the mountains, about 10 minutes from the middle entrance of Shenandoah, only 5 minutes from the town of Elkton. We immensely enjoyed our stay here. I am hoping to get the chance to come back for a longer stay!

Amazing stay! The sounds of the stream, enjoying the firepit and feeding the goats out back were awesome! This house was stocked with everything you need and then some. I felt right at home! The beds were comfy and the hosts were extremely friendly. We are already talking about coming back! Thanks for sharing this gem!

This place was perfect for our weekend getaway. The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable, plus close to so many hikes in Shenandoah national park. The hosts really thought of everything, from coffee to cookware and even having the fire pit filled with brush so we could easily have a fire. The location is nestled in the mountainside and is SO quiet, coffee overlooking the mountains and hills with nothing but the sounds of nature was therapeutic. We are already talking about planning our next trip back!
