This was our second stay at Monica's wonderful cabin and it was as perfect as the first time. House was clean, roomy, homey, we felt like visiting an old friend. Surrounding is spectacular, and we had great time cross-country skiing at two trails near Thunder Bay. The sauna is the best we've been to, clean, with absolutely gorgeous view toward the sunset; it heated very quickly and kept heat for a good amount of time. Kitchen is like home, with everything needed for family cooking. Monica even left eggs, milk, and and local pancake mix for us to enjoy -- thank you! Overall it's been our absolute best place to visit with my aging parents who enjoyed not having not having stairs in the house.

Kelly and Jami’s place was spacious and comfortable, and our entire group was easily accommodated with room to spare. The hot tub and fire pit were perfect for cozy, memorable evenings, and the fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the baskets of throw blankets throughout the house, which made the space feel even more welcoming. Although we didn’t bring our children this time, we noticed the home was well-stocked with toys and supplies, a detail we truly appreciated as moms. We’re already looking forward to making this our spot for our annual weekend getaway. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at All Decked Out! The location was beautiful and private. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating for our group. Everything was clean. The pizza oven was a nice addition. We enjoyed some time in Grand Marais and hiked some nearby trails. We would definitely stay there again!

Three of us had a wonderful wintery stay in early February. The house was great--cozy and comfortable with an incredibly well stocked kitchen and an epic bathtub! We took advantage of the gorgeous private sauna every single day and even had a bonfire one night at dust. The proximity to Lake Superior is another plus--as soon as you step outside the house you can hear the waves from the shore! Deidra was a wonderful host. She provided so many recommendations for the North Shore and even offered an early check in since the house was not occupied the night before our arrival. The snacks, welcome note and local gifts (wine, cider, maple syrup and pancake mix) made us feel welcome and appreciated. We hope to stay again in the summer when we can spend even more time outside enjoying the lake.

Four good friends had an absolutely fabulous time at Viewpoint. We loved just looking out at the lake, each day was different - grey and windy, beautiful sunshine and calm and a bit in between. All magical. We had fun cooking together in the very well appointed kitchen and had great fires each night. We thought we might be snowshoeing - but no snow changed our plans - hiked at Tettegouche, walked the bike trail conveniently right across the road!! Enjoyed a wonderful sauna at Sisu + Loyly in Grand Marais - highly recommend! All in all a wonderful mini retreat. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful Lake Superior retreat while volunteering and spectating at the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. The location was perfect—peaceful, scenic, and provided easy access to key race spots like the checkpoint Sky port, Otter Lake road crossing, and the Grand Portage finish. It was also an easy drive to Grand Marais for dining and exploring. The cabin is a perfect mix of rustic charm and comfort, with stunning lake views and cozy in-floor heating. After long days out in the cold, it was the perfect place to warm up and unwind. Tiffany was an excellent host—extremely easy to communicate with and very responsive. The property’s history, nearby Hovland Dock, and surrounding trails make this a special place for any North Shore adventure. We highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to relax and explore this beautiful area!

Joan and Don’s place was beautiful and they were very responsive. Don built much of the place by hand which is impressive! We enjoyed seeing faint northern lights, playing board games at the big table, cooking in the chefs kitchen, and baking in the sauna by the lake. For a remote winter getaway with a large group, this is the place.

Very clean and quiet! Amazing views!

The cottage was perfect for our ladies weekend. There was 5 of us and we slept comfortably. The view of Lake Superior from our big window is the best thing! We woke up to sunrise on the lake and the view was just breathtaking! We did not do much besides hung out in the cottage and talk all weekend long! For the price we paid, we wanted to enjoy the cottage and view as much as possible. It definitely was well worth it!

Just book it! My husband and I agree- the best view we’ve ever had! Beautiful at sunrise through sunset, followed by the most perfect stars once darkness sets in. There is a lot of fun hiking in the area and this made such a perfect home base. The views from the hot tub are unbelievable! Scotty was responsive and helpful with local recommendations. We were traveling with our two young daughters who loved the space- plenty of room for all of us. If we’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay here again, we enthusiastically would.

Both the cabin and Lutsen were amazing. The cabin was very well built/maintained, clean, and had everything we needed. Lutsen was beautiful and quiet but still had skiing, hiking, and local restaurants/shops. On top of that, Elisabeth was a great host and was very responsive to any questions we had. I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

Gorgeous views & lovely walk to the lake (though the hike back tested my fitness!) the house was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of firewood, which helped us get through a few below zero days.

It’s our 4th year in a row at Rebecca’s place (our grandchildren call it the “adventure cabin.”) Lovely spot, right on Superior, very comfortable, easy access to Grand Marais - all marvelous. Definitely recommend a stay.
