Catherine’s place so absolutely lovely. We had a slight hiccup at check in and she was available, able to respond right away and accommodate us. The place is extremely private, right next to a larger house but it is not used while guests are staying so we had a lovely and large patio and use of the hot tub! We were able to make a fire, cook dinner, (she has the basics to cook), the bed was very comfortable and we awoke to the birds taking their bird baths. It’s the perfect combination of private and peaceful close to vineyards and towns a close drive away. We loved it!

This is a very charming house. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is beautiful with great hiking. It is older, but charming.

I was expecting at least a little dirt and a spider or two in my cabin but it was spotless! I didn't know composting toilets were capable of being that clean. The kitchen and other buildings were well taken care of and super cute. The love and attention that has gone into creating a beautiful and creative community space is clear. The hosts were really friendly and if I had been more social I'm sure I could have hung out with them all night. My dog was so happy to run around and explore off leash, there was a very friendly farm dog that played with him and plenty of exploring for him to do. The whole space is gorgeous, the art, the environment, and the people. Its the perfect escape from the city, I would love to come back and have more time to explore and hang out with the lovely community that lives there.

We had a wonderful stay. The setting was so beautiful and restorative. We enjoyed getting out and active in the surrounding areas (hiking, kayaking, horseback riding) then coming back to soak in the hot tub and read peacefully on the deck. The location feels remote, but the house is well positioned to access everything within 15-30 mins drive. Highly recommend.

Wow! What An amazing stay. WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The place is well designed, clean, relaxing, nothing bad things to say. The host is so friendly. Would definitely come back. Nice area too!

Absolutely stunning property! The house was even more beautiful than the pictures—clean and thoughtfully updated while still maintaining the integrity of the original design. The views of the canyon were breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing getaway. While some roads were closed due to mudslides, the alternate routes were incredibly scenic with plenty of lookout points to enjoy along the way. The host was fantastic—super responsive to our questions. It rained a few times while we were there, so we needed more wood for the fireplace— the groundskeeper chopped wood the very next day after we asked which we really appreciated and got great use out of! We would love to come back someday!

Off the beaten path cottage that truly feels like another world. When you walk in, you feel right at home.

Erica’s birdhouse was nothing short of amazing! Such a peaceful environment! I absolutely loved how quiet and peaceful it was. You’re surrounded by the most beautiful mountains and hiking trails, yet not too far from everything you need. Erica was an amazing host and very accommodating! Her place made visiting home so much better! I cannot wait to stay there again! That has definitely been one of my favorite properties to stay! Thank you so much Erica! Can’t wait to come back!

Forgive me for waxing poetic about this place but it was inspiring and magical. I have always wanted to live on a steep hill with a view and now I know for sure that I do. We saw owls, a red tailed hawk and beautiful songbirds filled the air with their music. The house itself is decorated so beautifully my partner was crying at every turn as some detail popped out. I could not spend enough time on the porch looking out across the little valley of Elysian Heights at historic houses surrounded by green spaces. Exploring the hills and secret staircases satisfied all of our adventurous needs and just over a mile away was s vibrant area of coffee shops filled with artists and more than enough fun little shops to peruse. Karen was a fantastic host responding quickly and assuaging our fears when we got an earthquake alert on our phones. She helped me find a staircase I was looking for and suggested the best vegan restaurants. The only caveat with this place is the stairs, so just be prepared.

My partner and I came up for the weekend and absolutely loved this getaway. Tatyana’s spot was so cozy and peaceful. It was nice to disconnect and be with nature for the weekend. We stayed only for one night but definitely would love to go back for an entire weekend. The bed was very comfy and the shower was AMAZING.

I had a wonderful stay in this cozy guesthouse. It’s exactly as described, quaint little kitchen, lovely side yard, and you get to walk past gardening beds to the unit in the back. It’s perfect for 1-2 people and pup friendly! One draw for me was that it’s a nontoxic environment, all organic cleaning products and some organic teas and coffee too. Parvin was a super accommodating host - very responsive and easy to get a hold of. I was having allergies and she offered to swap out my comforter just in case I was allergic to it, and brought me an air purifier as well to make my stay more comfortable. Overall a great stay and I’d recommend it!

The cabin is spacious and very comfortable. The location is very out of the way and super quiet. There is a lot of interesting bird life including Acorn Woodpeckers who have been storing their acorns in the cabin walls! The kitchen is well equipped with the exception of a few essentials - limited crockery / glassware. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi fast. We would have loved to light to fire - situated in a stunning fireplace but it was just too warm! We stayed over Christmas & found John’s cabin excellent value for money.

If Heaven was a Bohemian-inspired treehouse, then this is it. Nestled under and around beautiful trees and wildlife, with a stunning canyon view, this is the perfect getaway to unplug, unwind & immerse yourself in pure beauty. What will stand out are all the sweet details, a helpful guest book, high grade linens & pillows, and a ridiculously comfortable mattress! The Treehouse is nothing short of paradise. A quiet, magical haven that allows for the most restful sleep - you never want to leave the cozy surroundings but if you do … Topanga is charming, hikes & ocean spots nearby are spectacular. Tatyana is a wonderful host and extremely conscientious & respectful of your privacy yet available by text if you need anything. Many thanks to Tatyana ~ my dog & I will definitely be returning soon.

Emil was absolutely wonderful. Super great communication, with an awesome, clean and beautiful house. Had everything you could want or need while on vacation. Made my stay easy, comfortable and relaxing. I will definitely be staying with Emil again!

A unique space in a great location!

We had the best time during our stay. Vincent was great and the place was perfect for us. Such a unique spot. Will definitely stay again next time we are in town.

We had a great stay at this comfortable, private, cabin that was an ideal place to spend time with family during the holiday season. Festive lights had been hung for a welcoming arrival and ambiance. The spacious kitchen and dining room and intimate breakfast nook were perfect for family meals. The spacious fruit groves around the cabin were very nice and soothing for after meals and morning strolls. Maribel and Jesus were both very attentive to any questions or requests. We highly recommend this cozy cabin and would be willing to stay here again in the future!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful experience! I stayed here after driving cross country from Atlanta and was totally taken by surprise how lovely this place was. Lisa was an absolute goddess of a host and I feel thankful to have met her. The space feels quite “off the grid” though it isn’t far from PCH and other access points. The trailer is definitely rustic (very cold some nights but all the more reason to bundle up!) but quite charming and super inviting once you get settled in. Honestly this is the condensed version of my experience but if you are feeling drawn to this place for whatever reason… book it! Thank you Lisa and Cross Bull Ranch for making me feel at home and for being such a beautiful space. Aho!
