English woman Antoinette Pignon Powle built the cottage in the 1860s, making it one of Bruny Island's oldest homes. Originally named Oakchester, it is also known to locals as Mr. Wisby's Cottage - when Antoinette made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, she asked her neighbor to look after the house. She never returned. The cottage has been restored, inside and out. It has 1 Bedroom, dining room/kitchen, living room, outdoor entertainment area, bathroom/laundry with walk-in shower and claw foot bath
