Beautiful location to stay in! Breathtaking views and great trails all around. The staff was also great.

This place was perfect for us and our dogs—one of our favorite trips for sure. It had everything we needed in a clean and comfortable package. Basic, convenient, cozy, comfortable, and the best location for us. We want to cancel all of our other trips this year and just come back to Black Mountain and stay at Sean’s. While we have very well behaved dogs and have never had any issues with them staying anywhere, we always get a little nervous that they might mess something up, but Sean’s place is absolutely dog proof and we felt right at home. Our dogs loved it too. Don’t hesitate to book, but also we hope it’s available next time we come to Black Mountain. 😀

I am happy to leave an "A+/5-star" rating...this, from a former professor who knows all about grade inflation. From start to finish, the hosts were welcoming. The accommodation is exactly as described and lovely. What did NOT receive a 5-star rating was the fact that I got caught in the horrific hurricane that blasted through the area. That said, the house was secure with nary a leak and safely above any low-lying area. Even with no electricity or phone for 3 days (luckily the water stayed on and my hosts had left a supply of filtered water), the ability to sit on the front porch, read from various books, and even work a jigsaw puzzle by daylight meant the days went by rather uneventfully. In fact, it was not until I was able to evacuate that I learned of how destructive this storm has been. Thanks to Anna and her sisters for reaching out when they could, and bringing extra water just in case. I hope to return in better times and would be happy to stay here again.

This was our second time staying and we loved it just as much as the first time! We even got to see two deer right outside the deck in the morning. Definitely a great place to stay to support WNC.

What a great place. Brought the family for Thanksgiving. Plenty of room for everyone. Saw 4 bucks the day we arrived. We had fires, fished, played games and relaxed. Kitchen is very well stocked. Love the “second” kitchen. It sure helped with Thanksgiving. The whole house is. Thomas is a great host. Don’t hesitate to book. I bet it’s great in the summer.

The property was super clean, cozy and in a great location. Beautiful views of the lake and a private backyard. Interior had all the essentials one might need. Linens were abundant and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were all upgraded and very nice. Quick drive to the market and a walk across the street for coffee, drinks and food. Also a quick drive to Chinmey Rock. Patrick, the host, was very responsive and always friendly. Definitely recommend. We will be staying here again!

Great location on Lake Lure. Quick access to the central part of the lake. Inside the house is on the small side but outdoor decks provide plenty of space to spread out. Everything you might need to enjoy your lake stay is provided, including the option for an on-site boat to rent. Parking is tight for larger vehicles - would suggest more compact size cars for easier maneuvering on street/parking area.

The home was very comfortable. The kids loved the playroom with all its games and activities. We all loved the fire pit and enjoyed having s’mores in the evenings. The kitchen was very well appointed which was great because we did a lot of cooking. We were also able to take advantage of the amenities at the club. All around a great stay!

We had a great stay here! The amenities were wonderful! Our kids loved the pool and the beach at the lake. Lots to do in this area! Jamie was super sweet and very responsive and helpful! She also makes great recommendations! We would definitely stay again!

We’ve been to Rumbling Bald multiple times and this has been my favorite residence of all! It’s easily accessible, has tons of space, and is well equipped. But the host and her proactiveness and accessibility are what make outstanding. We absolutely loved our time there and hope to make it back again sometime!

We felt very lucky to find this place in a pinch. Our other air bnb that we booked a month+ ago had frozen water pipes. Tamera responded very quickly to our panicked, last minute booking. The place is immaculate. We had everything we needed. We were grateful for our stay here.

Great place to stay - a covered outdoor seating area with a great view is provided and the room is just as pictured. Very clean and quiet - just what we were looking for. We are very happy with our stay.

We really enjoyed the apartment for a weekend stay with our 1 year old. Great location to easily access Brevard and Pisgah. Camden was super responsive and had we needed anything, I’m sure she would have been right on it. Just in case anyone else is thinking about bringing their baby here- the closet is huge (there isn’t a door between it and bedroom) and easily held pack and play with Slumberpod over it but you could also put that set up within the bedroom itself if needed. We had no issue not having a full kitchen, the bathroom sink is large enough to wash small things if needed. This is a cute and unique way to experience brevard and would definitely recommend it!

Cute place for a getaway with 2-4 people. Beautiful deck, small kitchen with what you need for quick cooking, coffee on hand, bathroom nice with what you need, clean and tidy. Loved the convenience to everything to do in the area. Kids loved the pool! I loved the zip line just 15 mins up the road (not included but highly recommend). Very responsive and helpful host. Lake Lure and views are breathtaking.

This is absolutely the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. I love to fish and the pond didn’t disappoint, caught bass, catfish and bluegill, it was a blast. It was so quiet and we really enjoyed the space by the pond. The home was immaculate!! We are already planning another trip to go back.

We had an amazing stay at the lake house! The property was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals. The highlight of the stay was definitely the lake—perfect for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The combination of a clean and comfortable home with the natural beauty of the lake made for a wonderful getaway.

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

Can't say enough about my stay and how lovely Sarabeth was. The cottage was truly beautiful (the art work, design, furnishings). Every detail was thought of. It was the perfect getaway in stunning surroundings. Sarabeth and her family were so warm and responsive whenever I had questions. I felt truly welcome. It's a very special place and I can't wait to go back.

Great location with quick access to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Happy with our decision to book this cabin for the week.

What an amazing gem for a family with kids to stay at! We are super grateful to have found this cozy cottage for our roadtrip stay in the area. We had everything we needed, all arranged and neatly explained. Would love to stay again 🙂

Great location! While we did have some hiccups when we first got there ( she had a previous last minute stay and when we arrived it wasn't clean. She was very easy to get a hold of and came right away to clean) Melanie was super nice and the house was great for our quick get away. Walking distance to town and some beautiful hikes. We enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we needed.

The Five Oaks Cottage was just what we were looking for to celebrate Michele’s birthday. The cottage was very cozy and everything we needed, and nothing we didn’t need. David and Penny were very accommodating and responsive. There was a great boat house, canoe and kayak for our use, at no additional charge. We felt welcomed and right at home. We bought one of the children’s books David had written, and David signed it and personalized it for our granddaughter. Lake Lure is a magical lake, and we are looking forward to returning one day.
