Tine's property is one of the best dugouts in the town. Has plenty of room for everyone (we were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids) with stunning views right at the gate. You'll be a fair 10-12 mins away from the town centre, driving past some roos passing by or spot them right above the ground after you walk out. Access to laundry, decent Internet connection, and a handful of kids activities make this dugout a perfect place to stay. Since we went off season, the property was the holiday and this dugout hit the brief really well for us to have a good time.

A great place to stay for our family of four for a couple of nights to have that authentic underground experience. Had everything you needed. There was also lots of space to park our caravan out the front. The host Ali was extremely responsive to any questions, gave excellent tips on what to do in the area. She even organised for a couple of our items to be posted back to us. Would recommend a stay here.

After wanting to visit Svend’s place for some years now, we were excited to finally get the chance to do so. We loved the peaceful setting, and finally experiencing this unique off-grid property for ourselves. It’s inspirational to know that crafting such a comfortable off-grid place is possible. Also wonderful to see the results of years of bush regeneration. We were excited to support the continued maintenance of this great property and definitely recommend a visit, especially if you want to feel a little like a Hobbit. I’d say winter might be the most enticing time to visit, maybe next time!

We had an excellent stay and took advantage of the chairs on the hill to watch the stars and enjoy the quiet evenings. Staying in a dug-out was fun and the drive-in movie (recommended by the host) was so much fun. We had a blast in Coober Pedy and will be back!

First time staying in a dugout and what a great experience it was. Diane was a fantastic host who made sure my check-in was as smooth as possible and recommended places to visit during my stay in Coober Pedy.

Alloggio immerso nel verde, pace e tranquillità! una soluzione ottima per riposarsi prima del rientro a casa ! Non è in centro ma ci ha permesso di conoscere anche un'altra zona che valeva la pena vedere, bellissime le risaie nelle vicinanze!! Anik ci ha consigliato un ottimo ristorante a pochissimi minuti ed è stato molto ospitale :) Da provare!!!

Coobercabana was an absolute dream. A true underground home experience with an incredible view, especially at sunset. Neighbours were extra friendly and full of local recommendations and suggestions to see, do and eat, most of which our host had already left detailed leaflets for. We loved our stay and seriously wish we could've stayed longer. Will definitely book again if back in the area.

We had an amazing stay at the pop’n’in Dugout! A definite must experience if in the area to stay underground. We’re very glad we stayed for three nights as we had heaps to do and really loved the town. The outlook from the property was spectacular, enjoyed watching the sunrise, just magic 😍. Karen was an absolute Gem, really helpful with suggestions and so easy to talk to. I was concerned about security but needn’t have worried given the private location out of town. 100% recommend!

We stayed here for just under 10 hours after a long drive from Uluru, and we still can’t stop talking about how amazing this place was! The house is beautifully done with thoughtful touches throughout — from TVs in every room to a well-equipped kitchen and even a speaker for some chill vibes. The outdoor seating area was perfect for unwinding, and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a private retreat. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and every appliance felt carefully chosen for guest comfort. Honestly, we’d come back to Coober Pedy just to stay here again — can’t recommend it enough!

The Desert Hideaway is a Gem of a place and Sonya our host was delightful with lots of local knowledge and advice on places to see and do. We felt right at home and highly recommend The Desert Hideaaway and Whitecliffs as a must see destination in Australia. Also recommend Red Earth Opal tours and Cafe, The Pub for dinner and Sonya's private guided tours.

Ali was an amazing host. So much information was provided as soon as we booked, she was helpful beyond expectation, very quick to respond, and most importantly provided a clean, beautiful, quirky underground home which was one of the highlights of our trip. 10/10 strong recommendation from a family of 5

Always a good stay at Villa Connection. Staff are faultless, and accomodating. Clean, functional space. Some feedback for the Moonlight room being as it’s dark - need some stronger lighting. Wish the owner would be more accomodating with a competitive monthly rate. It’s a great stay but the long term value is not immediately obvious. If you’re looking for a reliable, quiet, comfortable stay run by incredibly lovely staff look no further.
